the lad has looked rapid and a decent reader of the play. he could be our mainstay at the back for years to come.
he needs a loan over here to get him more used to the pace of english football. would he get that at dortmund?
Precisely mate. That's just another part of this story that is so farcical - there is no chance in hell that our (at the absolute best 3rd choice CB) would get game time at Dortmund anyway.

By far the most amusing transfer 'rumour' of the summer though.to the journo involved

That's a big assumption and we don't need more CB's playing FB for us IMO.

Lovren and Sakho are both very young, he'd need to do a lot to displace either.

Is German football not considered relatively similar in style to English? Would he really be better playing hoof ball football at the likes of Stoke than top level football in a style similar to ours (assuming they will play him of course)? And if Hummels is good enough to jump from Bundesleiga to PL, why couldn't Ilori do the same if he is going to be good enough?

i dont know if he would get to play enough games at dortmund or similar in the german league.
if he went to a team in a hoofy league then he would be under more pressure to perform, maybe not exactly our style of play exactly but he would have to work harder and would be involved in more of the play.
a couple of black eyes and some chin stubble later he will have developed some man strength maybe
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

But for the purpose of this ridiculous we have to assume he's their first choice to replace Hummels, so therefore will be playing and if he plays well there it can only be good for us, whether he comes back here and becomes a star or is sold for a tidy profit.

wasnt the original link from the mighty metro... not worth working into a frenzy over anyways.

Loaning out a young centre-back makes alot of sense - they learn their trade, and their inevitable mistakes do not cost you goals. In a way they are a lot like goal keepers, and only come good from the mid-twenties onwards. Before that they can be a liability.
And if we look at the number of CB's who have came through the ranks at any big club the number is surprisingly small - most learn the trade elsewhere, and then move to the big clubs.

llori to Dortmund on loan would be a brilliant move for LFC & for the player.

If it is the thing that makes Hummels go to the Mancs (something I really doubt) I'd say it a bad move for the club.

Don't want us to have anything to do with them possibly getting Hummels
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

A Hummels Llori swap seams the most logical outcome to me

Does anyone know how the metro works? (this ins't a dig at you Baitman)

The Metro has a staff of around 6-10 people - ****loads of regional newspapers sell advertising on the back of their own advertising and also syndicate stories into the metro. The stories syndicated will have come from titles such as the Echo,Manchester Evening News and the London Standard. Last I knew, regional titles belonging to Mirror Group, and DMGT (daily Mail) plus others were contributors. Just thought I'd share

Looks like BVB could do with him.

                              Bordeaux loan confirmed. http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/late...lori-loan-deal

Good club for him. They're top of Ligue 1 after two difficult fixtures and they really need some CBs (they played a CM and a career journeyman there in their first two matches). Should get plenty of opportunities and maybe get experience in the pressure of a CL qualification race.

A shame we have never seen this kid even in pre season. By all accounts he has a great future and it would have been good to see him get a game this summer.
