So a point away against a quite frankly excellent Chelsea side. Not bad.

Man City at home (after Napoli away), who are winning but not always convincingly (are we?).

City didn't look at all convincing against Hoffenheim yet comfortably beat Brighton.

We've definitely had the harder run in so far so I'm positive about this match!

I don't fear City at all to be honest, they are capable of scoring against anyone but also capable of conceding against anyone. At some point in the season we will put the foot down and kick into full gear... hopefully this happens vs City.

They had a tough game against a very poor side last night which is good against as we have a tough fixture ourselves. This is exactly when the quality of a squad comes into play & we have that. City seem to struggle vs counter attacking sides and have struggled against us in the past. It will be interesting to see if Pep tries a difference approach against us as we have beaten them in the last 4 games.

He tried a couple of things last year. He played Laporte at LB to try and nullify Salah and that didn't work. He targeted Trent and forced all their play down the left, but that meant Silva and KDB were hardly in it, so that didn't work. We definitely have a psychological advantage over them. he'd be better going toe-to-toe with us, play to their strengths and see who comes out victorious.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Plus we are stronger than last year when we beat them.

Alisson is a massive improvement, and the defence had only played together for a few months is not rock solid.

I think they maybe just about have the edge on us in coherency in attack (this season, we've not clicked yet) and depth, but over the pitch we are stronger.

We have a decent record against them. A win would be a massive statement for us...!

            BIG game.

Only thing that bothers me is the law of averages stuff. We can't keep whooping them at home surely. Two of my City mates are completely resigned to us taking 6 points off them this season
              Thanks very much for being

Had a bizzare dream about the Citeh game last night. Joe Cole came off the bench for us and scored a hat trick

I think with the players they have and the money they have spent, they will go toe to toe with us. Laporte had an absolute nightmare last night too, Otamendi is a total liability, Kompany is finished, Stones makes so many errors, Walker is decent but prone to a mistake and Mendy isn't fully fit. There are massive flaws there and they also are missing KDB and now Gundogan is out injured too. Obviously their attack is fantastic but we have a better balance imo... just need our attackers to kick in and we will be a nightmare for anyone.

If everything goes well tonight and we come away unscathed and with a decent result... I'm quite confident of us getting a result against them.

                        What?

He's not talking about superstition or anything. Merely eventually there comes a point in time whereby we won't beat them. Fact.

It's a bit of a fallacy in this context though.

They haven't beaten us at Anfield for 15 years! And with a side as good as they have now, it won't go another 15 years. That's all. Little things like that bother me more than they should (every time we play Everton I fear the same).

Yes but the law of averages cannot state when. It's like gambling. We have every bit of a chance to beat them again on Sunday. It could happen in the next game or 20 games.
