3 at the back makes sense with our squad. This would also tie in with why we signed Cissokho.

3 centre backs, with Johnson and Enrique as wing backs would be good. This formation might allow BR to bring Coutinho into a midfield 3 as opposed to the left wing - with Sturridge as the focal point and Suarez in a free role.

My concern is that BR will chop and change the team tactically a lot - and i dont think we have the players to adjust to that.

is allen fit? - i'd like to see this for the mancs i think

      -------------------mignolet--------------------

      --------------skrtel----agger---sakho---------

      Henderson--------------------------------------enrique

      -----------------Allen-------Alberto----

      ---------Moses----------Suarez---------Sterling

      - i don't know what formation that is 3-2-2-3

but it allows lucas/gerrard/sturridge to be rested, makes use of most of the centre backs, gives width and energy

It's a tad light in the centre, PeeTeePee!

Given his withdrawal from the U21 game against Man City, Ilori might feature as rightback or DM. I'd actually play Aspas with Suarez upfront. Have a gut feeling those two will hit it off as a strike pair.

i know - but that's because our midfield options are light anyway and i do feel gerrard and lucas could do with being wrapped up in cotton wool a bit.

so to overcome being light in midfield options, i've decided to just **** it off - overload the wide areas and attack, 3 solid centre backs - and the two guys in the middle can just have a chat and pick up the occasion loose ball or take kick off

If we are playing three at the back, I'd like to something this, offers ball retention, width, energy and attacking threat. I could be persuaded into Allen for Gerrard and Alberto in the hole. That would essentially be 3-4-3 when attacking and 5-3-2 when defending with lots of opportunities for triangles.
like the nice use of the white dashes

i would have moses in for the injured welsh xavi.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Unless Ilori is up for the job and his pace can be utilised on the right side?
Wisdom is not good enough to be a starter

                    It was
                    a very impressive
                    use of white
                    dashes.

Although I find centre align is much easier.

Obviously I hope he becomes our Vincent Kompany - but I just can't see it happening.
Out of interest, how many teams were in for Kompany when Man City bought him?

We could have waited for Sakho but the opportunity was there and we were probably the only team prepared to pay big to secure him before everyone else tried to sign him. You shouldn't confuse that with disinterest from other top teams.

Also, if he was that good - then it is strange that PSG sold him at all. Maybe they needed the money!!!

There's quite a wide gulf between Kompany and Diouf though to be fair. I don't think it's likely he becomes a Kompany either (because that'd make him one of the best few CBs in the world) but he's performed perfectly fine through two games so far and done nothing at all to deserve the proclamation that the only way he's getting a game is because Brendan's trying to cover himself in regards to the fee. The fee should be ignored anyway, but regardless of that for me he's still looking likely to be our left-sided centre back of the future.

We needed more creativity as we are not creating enough of good goal scoring chances and an upgrade on a DM.

We failed to address both of those areas in the summer and I worry about our chances compared to other top 5 teams.
