    Vs Sunderland (A): Build-Up

    DATE: Sunday, 29th September 2013

STADIUM: Away at the Stadium of Light

    KICK-OFF: 1600 (BST)

TV: Sky Sports 1 & Sky Sports 3D

    SQUAD:

    Everybody other than these below.

    INJURIES:

Daniel Agger - Rib Injury (TBA)
Phillipe Coutinho - Shoulder Injury (Until 26th October 2013)
Glen Johnson - High Ankle Sprain (Until 19th October 2013)
    Aly Cissokho - Ankle/Foot Injury (Until 5th October 2013)
Sebastian Coates - ACL Knee Injury (Until May 2014)

    MATCH FACTS:

    Head-to-head
    • Liverpool have lost just three times in 12 Premier League visits to Sunderland, winning seven of these matches.
    • Those three defeats are the only victories Sunderland have achieved over Liverpool in 24 Premier League meetings.
    • The highest-scoring match between the two clubs was a 6-5 top-flight Sunderland win at Roker Park in December 1930.

    Sunderland
    • The Black Cats are the only top-flight club this season without a Premier League win.
    • This is their worst start to a Premier League season since 2005-06. They were relegated that season, gaining just 15 points.
    • Sunderland have won only three of their last 21 games (D6, L12).
    • They did not manage a shot on target in the Premier League defeat to West Brom last weekend, Paolo Di Canio's last match before being sacked.

    Liverpool
    • Liverpool suffered their first Premier League defeat in 13 matches against Southampton last weekend.
    • They have lost just two of their last 17 Premier League matches (W10, D5) - both against Southampton.
    • The Reds are the only Premier League side yet to score a second-half goal.
    • Simon Mignolet has been the busiest Premier League goalkeeper so far this season - making 25 saves. He joined Liverpool for £9m in the summer after being voted Sunderland's Player of the Year.

Soz for the premature thread, but Est1892 can't allow any more thread farts; I just *had* to get in there first.
FFS, we could use these injured players. So Allen is definately not injured anymore?
    * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Yup. He's available for selection, just question marks about match fitness I would guess.

If we don't have enough squad cover or fight against a dishevelled Sunderland side then I will begin to worry.
            One tit for another.

                Muds!

Now this is what a build-up thread should look like.

IF we only take one/two points from three games against Southampton, Swansea and Sunderland, questions will be asked so yes, it's close to a must win.

While I've expressed concern over our midfield, with Enrique and Kelly back as proper fullbacks and especially with Suarez back, am confident of returning to our winning ways.
I wear my heart on my profile name.

I'll probably miss the first half as I'll be driving back from watching the ladies football team hopefully pick up the title

With Suarez back (& he scored there last season) I'm confident we can have these...
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

                      F*** off!!!

we should hockey them but you never know with a new manager, new tactics, crowd behind them.....

that said, without Fletcher we should be able to handle them from an attacking point of view. My fear is that someone like Adam Johnson will have his one good game in every 2 seasons against us!

This is more important than the Manc game though - in reality we need to get back to winning ways in the league.....

Hoping Suarez and Sturridge hit it off big time and can drive on....

We better win this... we should be getting nothing less than 3 points. Hope their new manager hasn't been sorted by the weekend.

                              Have they sacked Di Canio?
