Thanjk you.

Worth noting that it was their "second team" which cost more than the team we fielded. Also, much of that 'second team' will find its way into their first team now.
had we played their first team - fellaini in - it would have changed how they played and we'd have won

We also had our RB missing, a defence that's barely played together, a forward who has only been with us a few weeks, a striker who has just come back from a lengthy ban and another striker who looks knackered.
It's no disgrace to lose against that United team and we didn't play badly at all.
I'm annoyed by it but it's not like we lost against Rag Arse Rovers 11.
Never looked like scoring - even after 10+ corners.
.........
Yeah.....bit surprised to see some on here thinking we played well, and were clearly the better side etc etc.
Match thread, as always, goes completely overboard, but it was clearly a match between two sides of low attacking quality and patchy form.
The best passage of the match for me was as the first-half wore on, we had turned what had been a shaky opening 15mins into an efficient, away team performance. Completely ****ed it away of course within a few mins of the restart, but I never once thought 'we really, really deserve something from this' as the second half progressed. Our attacking play and midfield performance was far too slack for my liking, with questionable decision-making in most areas of the pitch..............some of which can be explained by forced absentees/returns, but it was very frustrating to watch at times.
Some very under-par individual performances out there as well last night. Majority of whom have been mentioned by others on here already.

Never good to lose to them. But we played ok, Luis has 90 mins and Moyes get breathing room to work his "magic" with them further. I hope they do we in this competition, it will paper the cracks and further their decline.

We were easily the better side in the second half, considering we were playing at Old Trafford. And we had enough chances to win it.
Looks like Sturridge is the new whipping boy. All good strikers are selfish. He actually looks rusty. Understandable given that he has had no pre season
We lost and that is now no win in the last 3 games. The only positive has been the return of Luis. Lets hope he helps us stop this little rotten run at Sunderland.

Some utterly stupid views on here.
again i feel conflicted cause sometimes i do jump on people's backs, especially when feeling pissed with a poor performance and emotions are high
but how anyone can have a pop at sturridge is surprising
yeah he didn't play well but he's carried us, unfit, for about a month
now with suarez back in, some of the burden is taken of sturridge and hopefully he will get fully fit and back firing on all cylinders
a fully fit/playing regulary partnership between these two will make a huge difference imo

Nah....not really. Both sides can point to chances in the second half.
Even Mig had to pull off a couple saves from Rooney in quick succession.
Our chances were pretty desperate overall......with Henderson's effort by far the most annoying. Can forgive Kolo's, but Moses should certainly have done better. Yes we hit the woodwork, but so did Kagawa etc etc
Got what we deserved really, not a good performance against what was a very ordinary team.
