Not sure what to make of that, disappointing to concede like that. United are incredibly average but we weren't good enough.

Good to see Suarez back, obviously he's such a threat even when rusty. Sturridge was frustrating, good movement but rarely had control of the ball. Moses wasn't great through the middle. Henderson generally wasted stuck out wide. Gerrard seemingly Teflon-coated but another non-performance from him.

Dunno what all the epic complaining and bitching in the match thread was about. Definitely we weren't sharp enough around the goal and we made a few poor choices but it was a tight match. I wouldn't be jumping around if I was a scum fan in fairness. They're far from being diminished but there's clearly something gone from them that Moyes is unlikely to rectify.

Two one nil defeats to set piece goals. Not good enough, total lack of concentration. Not as though we lack height now either with 4 or 3 CB's playing. We'll never get anywhere if we can't defend set pieces.

Luis seemed a but rusty, but thats only to be expected.

We were the better side at Old Trafford. Created more and better chances. Lost because of a simple **** up from a corner but apart from that kept them very quiet near our box. We had two strikers on the pitch who were so far off form that it was laughable. A fit and match sharp Luis and the result is different imo.

We're out of a **** competition and I don't care one bit. Utd fans will take heart from a result which masks their problems. They were the home side and it didn't show. They are in for a long hard season and are a little bit less aware of it after tonight, which is nice.

You can have all the positive stats in the world but if you're not scoring then you might as well just go home.

De Gayer (I can't believe I just wrote that ) made a few good saves, we hit the bar, and hit the side netting a few times.

Finishing was poor, but we had plenty of chances to nick it.

We were better tonight than we were a few weeks ago at anfield. Shame about the defending at the set-piece.

Big players didn't turn up, we had a strong team on paper but so many players not match fit and it really showed. Thought Skrtel was man of the match & Enrique was very good apart from his usual mistakes in every game, which we paid for. Such a soft goal.

United were average and didn't have to be any better than that to win. Strange sub to put Kelly on IMO. Our midfield has been atrocious this season, so disjointed and lazy. I was suggesting like a few on here to have Lucas/Hendo in the middle... after that performance by both players.... not a chance!

Sahko looked bit better in second half but he is pretty shocking technically.. makes Skrtel look like Beckenbaur. Suarez so rusty and sluggish.. Sturridge just had a shocker, tripping over the ball and nothing going right.

Which brings to me to Stevie G... what a mare. Guy hasn't started this season. Each time he gets the ball he slows up play and allows opposition to retreat and setup, he literally didn't stretch out his legs the whole game.

To be honest i don't care if United didn't deserve to win... they did. Our injured players are massive loss. A draw and two lethargic losses on the bounce. Out of the cup already. Gutted it was United that did it too.

P.S. How ****ing bad are we at set pieces defending and especially attacking... infuriating.

Finally we had a good second half this season.

Positives - Suarez looked as good as ever and Sakho showed glimpses of the player we all hope he can be, back 4 and Mignolet in general looked solid apart Jose's one moment of idiocy, Moses is good

Negatives - Sturridge was **** I just hope it's because he's not fully fit, midfield again was average, Henderson was poor

I worry about the number of players in our team who don't really have goals in there game. The likes of Enrique and Henderson get a decent number of chances but most of their efforts are poor, Lucas doesn't offer goals either. In reality we from open play we only had 4 players who are a significant goal threat starting tonight. (Gerrard, Suarez, Sturridge and Moses)

Not as bad as some seem to believe. Undone by a set piece. But played some pretty decent football at times.

Criminal defending by Enrique undone all his good work from the first half.

Lacking sharpness up top but was actually one of our better performances this season.Once that sharpness returns we'll do well playing like that.

Can't quite put my finger on why but we aren't quite hitting the tempo and movement of the end of last season. Sturridge not being fit must play a part I suppose (he was pretty awful tonight). That said, a fit Suarez, Coutinho and Johnson back in the team and we are a totally different animal. Sakho looked a bit dodgy in the opening 10 minutes but was very assured from then on which is promising.

United really aren't very good. Agree with Kenneth, they have a long hard season ahead and this only masks it.
