The only answer to the middle third issue is new signings. Investment is required.

      Or 5-0-5

Lucas and Gerrard doesn't work very well when they are up against the better teams. I'm alos not having it that Gerrard couldn't play further forward, thats balls. He is playing where he thinks he should be playing, but he would be far better as an impact sub. Like in the Newcastle game where he came off the bench a couple of years back.

Lets sell Lucas & Allen and get a decent first team replacement with power and pace.

We should get Loucas in, instead, then they could play together. Ah, then push Sturridge further forward, so should look similar to this.

          ---------- Loucas Gerald -----------------

          Victor---------Coutihno-----------Mobutu

          ---------------Sturridge-----------
          Are we winning?

Nope. I'd settle for Sissoko definately if the price was right.

Before Newcastle decided to use him as a more advanced player he was a very effective defensive midfielder for Toulouse.

              Easy.

i was thinking paul warhurst but really he converted to a forward as opposed to get shifted further forward.

2.7m blackburn paid for him for a one / two season wonder. he was quick though

Warhurst ended up as a centre midfielder when Blackburn bought him

Think he sufferred a bad injury at Blackburn during his first or second season and from there on in he dropped like a stone

I didnt think he was that bad in midfield frankly

started off as a centre back and then ended up playing up front. but 2.7m was a lot of money for him even though he was grease lightening.

Morgan S at Soton is a player I'd look at. LFC fan, but more importantly, he's ideal for what we need. He's like Lucas but with power, pace and a Jordan style engine. Probably cost a few bob with Soton doing so well though.

Whilst I'm at it, Luke Shaw, Morgan S and Jay Rodriguez for Cissokho, Lucas and Aspas would see us top 4 without a doubt. Unrealistic, but the kind of players we need. Add Suso to the squad when we make the CL for squad depth as well
