I'm definitely not getting carried away, but I'd like to hear the opinions of some of the naysayers a few games ago. What's a realistic finish now?

We could win the next 3 games and I still wouldn't be convinced that we'd win it. History is littered with teams who have imploded after leading at Christmas, or even later. And our squad is pretty inexperienced.

And we're still, what 3 points ahead of 5th place? The margins are minute.

That said, I'm enjoying this form immensely. Fingers crossed.
    Oh I don't know.

I'm sticking with my prediction of finishing 3rd. As long as we don't implode under the pressure, we can could go all the way and I'm sure that's where Suarez, Gerrard and Toure will start becoming more valuable to the team.

Does Sturridge have a PL winners medal?

The way we play suits the players. I mean, it's an expressive way of playing rather than a calculative one. If you know what I mean. That is, we're more than likely to run out of steam rather than getting found out in terms of quality. We're as good as any team in this league on our day.

So, all will depend on how the other squad will cope with increasing fixture pile ups when the CL/European games start again next year.
        Are we winning?

We are in the title race irrespective of whether we want to be or not. I say we enjoy it! We may not win the league, but the way things are shaping up it's wide open, with teams dropping points at unlikely places, so we have a chance. I don't see how we can be aiming for anything other than the league. The players seem relaxed too, it's good to see how well we react to injury and defeat.

To sum up. We are second, we just battered Spurs away... win our next game and we go top(even for a while) and the Mancs are miles of the pace.

It's not been this good for a while

We don't look nervy at the moment and the joy on the faces of every one of those faces tell me that we're on the brink of something amazing here.

We played City off the park last season, home and away, only drawing both through dreadful defensive blunders. I don't see any reason why we won't get a decent result there.

Mancini was **** though and managed to make a team full of mainly top class attacking players look stodgy. Pellegrini, while they've had problems away from home, has improved them massively and has them punching their weight now. Will be a much sterner test this time. But they will be worrying about us too.

Very early days still. The pressure will really start to increase as the season progresses. We're outsiders, but we're in the picture, I don't think there's any denying that.

I think a few good buys in January could be crucial.

                      Good times!

Haven't seen City play much but it's clear that we need to eradicate the sloppy errors in defence. It's laudable though that we try to pass our way from the back but we do seem to carry a couple of errors in us when doing so. Great to see Rodgers sticking to it though.

We're still flawed, especially when it comes to depth, but other sides have issues as well. The next 3 games will tell a lot.

City are the best team. Chelsea have the best manager. Arsenal have more of a stable system and foundations.

                            But they don't have Holloway

That's really the wild card. If one of the top 4 teams sack their manager and get in Holloway, they'll be favorites. I can't see anyone matching his salary demands, think he's holding out for the Madrid job.

Just to add with Suarez in our team the league title doesn't seem such a ridiculous ask. He's doing what Ronaldo did for United a few years ago. If he carries on in this form (a big ask!) then he will carry us to the title almost single-handedly.
