Neither is Rodgers for that matter.
        Are we winning?

It's not really about the individual games but about how the team reacts and plays over a period of time and in that regard we done really really well this season. So far we are in line with the goals of the season, and even playing some fantastic football in a lot of the matches.

I still see CL qualification as the big goal of the season, and I'm extatic if we get there considering where we were at the start of the season and the past 4 seasons.

All this title speculation is not really helping our own calm and sanity Nor is being expectant all of a sudden because of some incredible results here and there
i'll throw this grenade out there. Keep suarez fit and beat chelsea/city/spurs at home and united away and we will win the league

ok, chelsea slipped up and dropped points just like anyone could. they dropped points because of west brom managing to make their own breaks and steal a point.
we made a mistake and gifted west brom their point.

you might say we should be more confident because chavs and other top teams can drop points here and there. this also includes us. just when it looked like we were going to hang on and nail the three points we end up letting the win slip away. this wasnt down to some great play from the opposition, more to do with our **** up. we are not in a position of being able to give away points. some games we have played fantastic, others we havent turned up.

if we want to make top four then we have to treat every game like it matters. to even consider more than this, and i dont even want to mention the unthinkable until we are in a position to wrap it up, we need to be ruthless and relentless.
I'm a little confused, I guess I must have misinterpreted your last post. I thought you were trying to justify some of the OTT reactions when we drew, but I think you are just saying it's all the more gutting because we threw it away ourselves?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

thats it. three points in our own hands and then whoosh. i doubt you win titles like this. no doubting all teams have lost points, we have seen chavs and manure do it in the last few days, but we have done it under no pressure

IMO it was just an individual mistake made by our fourth choice CB, I think we shouldn't read too much into that. Every team has it's off days, Rodgers took the blame for the Villa draw and Kolo for WBA.

I'm not getting carried away.... been following us for too long to know we'll slip up unfortunately at some point. This season is all about top four & progression for me

Saying that this made me chuckle....

With Arsenal wobbling, Chelsea 'not ready' and Man City struggling, here are 10 reasons why Liverpool CAN win the title

Chelsea aren’t ready, Arsenal are in danger of another ‘over by Easter’ campaign, Manchester City are showing signs they are finding it tough at the top and Manchester United are out of it all together.

Meanwhile, fresh from drubbing Arsenal 5-1, Liverpool have suddenly gone from top four contenders to dark horses for the Barclays Premier League title. Brendan Rodgers is understandably keen to play down his team’s chances winning the league for the first time since 1990.

Sportsmail presents 10 reasons why they just might.

                  1. They’ve done it before. In the 1985/86 season Kenny Dalglish’s team trailed league leaders Everton by five points with 13 games to go. That gap stretched to eight points with 12 games to go after they were beaten by their great rivals 2-0 at Anfield. But 11 wins and one draw later Liverpool were crowned champions courtesy of a two-point advantage over Howard Kendall’s team.

                  2. They have the second best home record in the Premier League, well until Manchester City beat Sunderland at the Etihad tonight. Even so, City and Chelsea have still got to visit Anfield…and as Jose Mourinho keeps telling us his side won’t win the title this year. Beat both of those and Liverpool are right in the hunt.

                  3. They might not have beaten Manchester United at Old Trafford for five years, when Sir Alex Ferguson was still getting under Rafa Benitez’s skin. But who would bet against them piling more misery on David Moyes next month by doing the double over their bitter rivals? After all, in all competitions, West Brom, Everton, Newcastle and Tottenham already have…did I forget to mention Swansea in the FA Cup?

                  4. After being stuffed 5-1 by Liverpool, Arsenal are in serious danger of blowing up once more and have gone from title contenders in the eyes of many to prime candidates to finish fourth in the eyes of many more. Come next month, by which time Arsenal could quite conceivably have lost to Manchester United in the league, Liverpool in the FA Cup and Bayern Munich in the Champions League. That will crush confidence at the Emirates by the time they face Sunderland, meaning Liverpool could be above Arsenal by the time they face Gus Poyet’s team at Anfield.

                  5. There are no gruelling Europa League trips to the Ukraine or any other long-haul European opponents to distract Liverpool from the prize of a potential domestic double.

                  6. No one has scored more goals in the Premier League than either Luis Suarez or Daniel Sturridge. The pair have bagged 38 goals between, 23 for Suarez and 15 for Sturridge, and that is before they have filled their boots against Fulham tonight – the leakiest defence in the division.

                  7. Sir Alex Ferguson may not rate Steven Gerrard as a ‘top, top player’ but he is a minority of one. The Liverpool skipper has been reborn in the deeper midfield role handed to him by Rodgers. The lung busting, box-to-box runs may be few and far between but his range of passing is manna for heaven for Suarez and Sturridge and his delivery from set pieces is another highly dangerous weapon.

                  8. Raheem Sterling just keeps getting better and better as his brace against Arsenal proved. Left or right wing, Sterling’s speed and quick feet are a nightmare for defenders and his link-up play with Suarez is approaching the level of understanding between the Uruguayan and SAS partner Sturridge. Roy Hodgson’s plan to run the rule over Sterling as a potential replacement for Theo Walcott in his World Cup squad is testament to the 19-year-old’s rapid progression.

                  9. Only Arsenal have a better record against teams in the bottom half - and that might last much longer. From 14 games against teams 11th and below so far, Liverpool have won 11, drawn two and lost one – that’s 2.5 points per game. With six more fixtures of that nature to come, starting with Fulham tonight, on that form that’s a healthy return of 15 points.

                  10. Liverpool are the kings of the set-piece in every department. Rodgers' boys have banged in 22 goals from dead-ball situations, two more than Manchester City and eight more than Chelsea. Just the kind of additional string to their bow on top of the 41 they have got from open play to set the nerves of opposition defences jangling when the pressure reaches fever pitch over the ensuing weeks.

                    then i think we're a solid top 4 bet.

then i think. **** - we could still finish 6th

i know you can look at all teams and all results and say had we done that or they did this then we'd top etc but for me the two recent draws against Villa and West brom are really frustrating - wins there and we'd be on 54 points and a game tonight that could a win would put us on 57 points...we'd be virtually there for top 4 and well in the title race.

but it's those results that give me a nagging doubt and bring me down and it's why i'm so nervous about tonight.

Difference being that only Liverpool fans seem to have an elevated opinion on Rodgers and non-Liverpool fans think we are only succeeding because of Suarez. There's a love-in for Mourinho that extends way past the stinking foul walls of Stamford Bridge
