I think to win the league we will have to win all our remaining games which would make it something like a 12 game winning streak. When was the last time we did that? I think that tells you all you need to know about how slim our chances are.
Still, it's nice knowing a top 4 place is secure as it takes some of the pressure off. Just try and win each game and see where we end up. I think we'll end up finishing 2nd or 3rd, depending on whether City implode or not. Would be handy to avoid all those qualifying games especially considering the WC in the summer is going to afford little rest for our players.

It's good to know that Spurs are 6 points behind and Everton and Man Utd 11 but there are still 10 games to play and anything can happen.Originally posted by captainfog View PostI think to win the league we will have to win all our remaining games which would make it something like a 12 game winning streak. We are in good position to end up being 4th but we cannot make any mistakes.Last edited by Mostar; 10-03-14, 10:51 PM.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Im in this camp too, One hurdle at a time. We wanted 4th and until that happens then we move to the next one. Glass is half full on times but Liverpool fc does this to meOriginally posted by Mostar View PostIt's good to know that Spurs are 6 points behind and Everton and Man Utd 11 but there is still 10 games to play and anything can happen.

We are in good position to end up being 4th but we cannot make any mistakes.Nah, spurs are are **** and 6 points is huge at this stage, especially considering our goal difference. For them to overtake us we have to drop points in 3 more games than them. They are crap and will drop points themselves in at least 2 games (and that's being generous) which means we would have to drop points in half our remaining matches. It would take a spectacular collapse from us and a complete turn about in performance for them to even get close.Originally posted by andrewces38 View PostIm in this camp too, One hurdle at a time. But assuming we'd win our other seven games, they'd still have to win all nine of theirs to finish ahead of us.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostIt's not just game losses, it's annoying draws where points can be clawed back. If we draw three and they win 3 that's six points on us which would put them on level terms.
It's too early to be breaking out the cigars methinks!
No chance.

You're assuming they are going to win every game. They've already lost last weekend so we can already afford to lose one of our last 10 games and still be 6 points clear. Even if as you say they win their next 3 and we draw our next 3 then we'll still be ahead of them goal difference.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostIt's not just game losses, it's annoying draws where points can be clawed back. Given our circumstances in recent years it's understandable to be nervous, but really we should be looking ahead of us and not behind now. 6 points clear with a game in hand and 10 games to go is a huge lead.
Even if you remain cautious and think we'll drop points in 4 games (a whopping 40%) - a prediction that is completely at odds with our current form, then I think you're giving Tim Sherpoo far too much credit to think he's going to win all 9 of his remaining games. Spurs are not going to win all their remaining games.

Even then we'd finish above them on goal difference.Originally posted by Barnyard View PostBut assuming we'd win our other seven games, they'd still have to win all nine of theirs to finish ahead of us.
