If we beat City and draw with Chelsea then you better hope to **** that we win everything else and Everton do us a massive favour against City.
    Was muß, das muß.

We really have to beat city - that one is key. If Everton could get something, even a draw of them then it would be huge for us
crap - win all 6 it is...

i know strongly believe our main contenders are City.

I'm not saying it's a two horse race now - chelsea are still in it but out of the three, they are the ones who seem to be a little off form in terms of performance, plus they are 2 points behind with no games in hand, have to come here and then the key thing....they still have champions league games - defo 2, maybe more, but even just those two games are tough games, extra pressure both mentally and physically and it might just be a bit too much for them to compete in champions league and pull it back in the premier league as well

City though - strongest squad, been here before, easier run in on paper, (apart from a poor 2nd half against arsenal) have been playing well. they defo have a good shout at it.....going against them is, they have two games in hand and everyone always says points on the board at this stage is better than games in hand, plus they still have to come here.

what a title race though - enthralling

even if we win against the chavs and citeh we could still have a stumble elsewhere so we need to go all in for every game
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

thats the way to approach it - take each game as it comes and as a must win. can't afford any slip ups.

would be great if chelsea and city dropped a couple more points somewhere

i'd still say, at this stage of the season - i'd be ****ing buzzing if we came out of the city/chelsea games and with two games left (palace/newcastle) we're still in it, say 2/3/4/ points off whoever is top......so that two wins and it could be done

your post is basically exactly the same key points I've just read on his bbc article...

regardless. totally agree with you. I think its 1st or 2nd for us this year. We might drop some but i think we'll beat chelsea at home. even a draw now would be a decent result for us

                    Hansens article is pretty good.

Liverpool are on a crest of a wave. But i honestly do believe that sitting on top of the league is slightly trickier that being within a point or two and chasing. Hoddle made the comparison with a golfer going into the final day with a one or two shot lead. And that is a great comparison - the pressure will be on us now to maintain our position - whereas when we were part of the chasing pack, then it was a case of "lets put Chelsea / Man City undwer pressure and keep winning"

I cannot wait to see how this team reacts to the pressure of being top of the league now to be honest.

The Manchester City game is going to be unbelieveable. The crowd will be electric and I really think that Man City won't be able to handle it. Looking at Man City's fixtures, I think they suspect that a draw at Anfield would be a good result for them but it would be very dangerous for them to play for a draw. Opposition managers must be starting to think that to get something against Liverpool, they'd need to score at least 2 goals of their own.

                        it's a good point/analogy

however there is another way of looking at it again using golfers...

you've got chelsea and city going along playing well but then every time they scrape and fight and make a birdie, they look up at the leaderboard and see Liverpool pissing a birdie - they're going along holing putts from 40 feet to make birdie on a tough hole and the team they are chasing are hitting perfect drives, perfect approach shots and tapping in easy 1 foot birdie putts...

that has a big effect as well, cause they think **** this guy is relentless - he just keeps making birdies and is making it look easy.

it was my dad who pointed it out to me - i know we're looking at the other teams thinking, hmm i think city will beat them, chelsea will beat them etc - but guaren****ingteed they're both sitting there going **** me, this liverpool side just keep steamrolling everyone and don't look like stopping

I've been thinking of a possible scenario whereby we come into the City and Chelsea games needing a draw only. Think we should go for the win as last time we tried to manage a draw, it finished in disaster (see Arsenal game in 1988/89).
                          Are we winning?

Y'know its matches like yesterday and seasons like these that I'm just so pleased I was absolutely insistent that my sons were Liverpool fans. The ex and her family were evertonians, they did try. No ****ing way

The fun my younger lad has had this season going to the game, seeing his team absolutely destroy good football teams has been brilliant. I'm getting to see it through his eyes as well - I never got to go to Anfield when I was his age (title winners, Kenny's team, taking it for granted we'd aways win). See, thats what football's for! Dads and their sons! Liverpool steamrollering the opposition! Title challenges! Brilliant football!

Absolutely savouring this. I didn't last time around.

This team isn't capable of playing for a draw. Changing to a defensive set-up would be suicide.

We have to keep it balls to the wall all the way.
