Great result again

I thought we played well first 20 minutes and we sat back and seemed to become ponderous in possession. We wanted too much time on the ball and seemed to get caught frequently in possession

Tactically I thought it was all Brendan could do although I do think the switch to 3or 5 at the back should have happened a touch earlier

Thought Allen did well first half and he is someone I am not a big fan of and I was surprised he came off an not Lucas who looked well off the pace and very leggy second half

Mignolet was definitely at fault for the first, he called to Skrtel who was rightly furious when he failed to punch it clear. The second goal was Flanagans fault he should have challenged for that. However most of our problems stemmed from dallying in possession or putting ourselves under pressure

We dug in deep and got the result but we will have to play a lot better than that to get results from Chelsea & Crystal Palace

Allen was brilliant first half, but it didn't happen for him 2nd. In 35 mins, he only attempted 8 passes, missing 3 of them. Lucas was a bit more composed 2nd half and playing a bit better than first half, so I can understand the change.

I do think if Sturridge is back for Chelsea, Allen will keep his place though.

Would be surprised if it's before Sunday, as the PL haven't even mentioned it yet ( I think ?), plus they would be given time to respond and possibly delay any suspension by appealing etc

I think the good thing is that the ref didn't see the incident at all and made no report of it, so it's an open and shut case for me if it's looked into.

It's a bank holiday so I doubt any of the ****s at the FA are at work - ex ref dermot Gallagher on SKY reckons he'll defo be banned

Saw it mentioned in a Guardian article this morning so it's a possibility. Don't think he'll get away with it.

I'm so nervous today. Its getting so close. But we still need to get 7 points from 9. We have to beat Chelsea. I keep thinking it all through. We are on the cusp of something truly great, it would be amazing. I've waited my entire adult life for this moment and its still weeks from being confirmed. My work will be shockingly bad from now till the end of the season. No way I can give anything my full attention.
