Spurs are hot on Everton's heels. Lose to City and Spurs pretty much nick their spot. That leaves Everton fighting with Man Utd for the Europa place.

OK, Utd are a full 9 points behind (with 3 games to play). With momentum there's no way Man Utd won't win all their games to finish on 69. That leaves Everton having to get 1 point out of their last two games to ensure Europa football (goal difference will at this stage be in favour of Utd). Lose to City and that leaves 1 away game with 1 point required and nobody, least of all Martinez, will want a nightmare scenario like that.

They will try to get that 1 point off City, at home, this weekend. So they can mentally rest for the final game (by which time they'll be out of CL qualification anyway).

Edit: Utd are playing Sunderland before Everton take on City. Utd have to win to keep the above scenario alive. Would you believe we have to support a Utd win. Typical.

Relax, it is coming home. It has been a very long wait but it is on its way, nothing can stop it now.

Don't worry, there will be a dead cat bounce. Ryan "Guardiola" Giggs will see to it to prove he deserves the chance full-time.
                3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Good point, almost forgot I wanted to see him 'succeed' this season. Glory, glory hole Man Utd.

Ian Snodin says Everton are going for the win. All this false hope is killing me. I had accepted it had gone yesterday. This is cruel man

Everton have a 20% win percentage without Barry in the side.

That is a damning statistic. Wipes out any hope I had of City dropping points at Everton in 11 words.

I still think City will drop points somewhere before the end of the season though.

He's only missed 2 league games. One was City away which they understandably lost and the other was Southampton at home which they won 2-1. Not bad really.
