Well, looks like we're not winning the league this season, I don't like using them as an example but for me it's very similar to Man United in 1991/92. They hadn't won the league in 25 years, had a great season with a young manager, looked like they would win it that year but finished 2nd. They won it the year after. Here's hoping the same will be the case for us.

There is one thing I'm pissed off at though. Over the course of an 11 game winning streak we still didn't open up a gap for ourselves and ease the pressure,****ers kept nibbling at our heels.Everyone of those games was must win. Any other season that sort of a run see's you win the title win a few games to spare.

Yeah, not getting my hopes up. As far as I'm concerned, City are favourites to win the league and will probably do so. I am certain they will not show complacency as they have already had too many stupid and underachieving results. They'll have learned their lesson and the momentum is with them. I expect them to win the next two comfortably.
No one knows what next season will bring but I don't expect some of our rivals (Tottenham and Man United especially) to be so diabolically bad next year. This will have probably been our best chance but who knows. We'll see.
There's a certain unshakable tragedy about your captain making the mistake that buries your title hopes, but... it's just football. I, for one, get way too invested and it's wrong of me to do so.

Gerrard won quite a few games with his penalties though too, where we could have dropped pointsOriginally posted by Marina View PostYeah, not getting my hopes up. People are going to mock him for that slip but he will get over it and so will we. There are plenty instances of dropped points this season equally contributing
Yes Utd and Spurs maybe stronger but a more competitive league gives us more of a chance. We are building for long term sustainable success. You will be fine and so will we

I still think something will happen on the last day. I'm 60% sure that City will win the league, but it's not completely over yet. We need to get three points tomorrow and maybe even get a decent number of goals and then we can evaluate after City play again on Wednesday what we're likely to need to do on Sunday. West Ham won't try to play football against City, if they get their gameplan right they could really unsettle City. A draw isn't good enough in our remaining games or City's now - still everything to play for.

The **** atmosphere is down to their fans. It's a shame, but I'm pretty sure it's understandable given the rivalry. I don't agree with it but that's football for you.

I believed it was fate/destiny until the Gerrard incident happened and we lost. I thought it was meant to be for him, the way he was winning us matches,Hillsborough Anniversary. For it to go awry in the way it did, I dont believe it is destiny anymoreOriginally posted by G View PostWe'll win Monday, city will win Wednesday and the magic will happen on Sunday. There's no way this isn't going to be decided on final day. I don't know what it is, I just think it's fate and it'll be Gerrard who proves crucial that day after what happened against Chelsea. It's written.
