    Not surprised at all. Everytime they have a gap in the squad, they have the option to go with a young inexperienced lad who will make mistakes whilst hes learning or buy a 30m ready made champions league player.

    Imo the kids don't have a chance yet there are some decent people working very hard at that academy.

      Apparently they've just signed Rodney Kongolo, a 16 year old 'wonderkid' from Feyenoord.

        In reality though the chances of guidetti, lopes, Denis Suarez i think his name is making it into the 1st team squad let alone the team is virtually zero. Even in their current cycles there is some absolutely phenomenal talent under 8s upwards.

        But none of them will get to play for city. As for RB becoming their global technical director, its just designed to cherry pick the best talent from abroad and this is something city already do.

        He will end up managing their various 'talent centres' worldwide which are really just exercises in marketing and pr.
        It appears his job will be quite different than what he was doing with us with a focus primarily on their NY and Australia operations.
