We've definitely got a shot at fourth.

and city - plus once chelsea get going

but yeah it's nice to have some positive thoughts about the club - off the pitch drama's seemed to have gone, and on the pitch we are improving

still a lot to go - but it's taking shape

the next month for us is huge. We've had a decent start - but it's no either build on it over December or collapse

the thing is though - it's so tight come january we could find ourselves top or 8th.

as we say each week it's vital we keep our key players fit cause i still feel we just lack a little quality/strength in depth
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Whatever happens, it's nice to still be in the title race in December

Our form over the last 6 games puts us 6th, which is where I think we'll probably finish up. We had a great start, and other real title chasers had poor ones by their standards, but I think normality will be back come May and we'll miss out on the top 4. I really don't think we have the depth of talent required to make it. The xmas period will be very important and where I think we'll begin to fall back.

                      interesting stat -

                      i would guess ourcasemore

in no particular order - arsenal, city, chelsea, southampton, everton

it's going to be tight - we need a bit of luck

get through this xmas period and still be in the mix - winning the games we should win and getting a couple of draws against the tough games, maybe one or two losses.

keep hold of suarez in january - add a couple extra quality players and keep everyone fit for what 19 games in the second half of the season

we defo have a chance - we'd have everton/arsena/city/chelsea/spurs Away all done - we don't have the extra games to worry about in europe that the other sides have.

As i say - it's all about the next month

Need to hang in there over Crimbo, then buy very well in Jan, hopefully make a signing or two that improve our team more than most of our rivals manage in the same window.

Do that, or near to that, and we have a real chance, but it will be difficult with all our rivals looking to do the same, and with many of them being in a better position than us, maybe not in the league at that moment, but in the minds of prospective signings.

We'll have to be very canny in our business, and choose the right players to buy, not necessarily the very best or the most expensive, but tactically; players that improve our 1st 15, and ones that will contribute in a way that puts extra points on the board.

                          Easy.

3 of them I would see as genuine contenders for the top 4 the other two not so much.

The last 6 game stat is a funny one as potentially with the next 3 fixtures we could and should take 9 points, I'd assume that would put us right back in the top 2 or 3 form wise.

This season we need to take every league game as it comes, we've no European distraction and I'm not fussed about the FA cup pqrticually either, all about the league

4th place won't require as many points this year. 22 points has City 4th at the minute, so using that average for teh season would have 4th place finishing on 69/70 points, which is exactly the amount of points we'd finish on if we maintained the form from our last 6 games (3 wins, 2 draws).

So despite the selective range in Tanner's match choice and despite the fact all 3 away games were pretty tough, whatever way you look at it, we're still on course for a top 4 finish.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
