Some horrible gob****e who thinks he's hard cos he's carrying a blade. ****ing gob****e. I hope the Oldham fan got a couple of digs in and i hope he'll be alright. IMO anyone caught carrying a knife should get a minimum 5 year jail sentence.
Agree completely about the min 5 year sentence. I have a big problem with the sentences given out in the UK and if a GBH was 10 years min (without parole) then society would be much better off. When you see people getting suspended sentences for things like stealing cars, breaking into houses then in my view, society is screwed up in general man....
I would love to live in a world where there are set rules. You start a fight in the street, then its, say, 4 years in jail. You rob a car and its 5. You carry a knife, its 5. You carry a gun, then 10.....
Back to this case, I suspect the Oldham fan isn't completely blameless (as his wife says in the Liverpool Echo) - otherwise, why is he refusing to talk to the pork chops? Doesnt take away from the fact that nobody should have carried a knife - but in reality it takes two to tango and i doubt he was 100% blameless.....

FTT. GBH sentencing is covered under sections 18 and 20
Section 20 carries a maximum sentence of five years. Section 18 can in some cases result in life imprisonment but in reality sentences over ten years are extremely rare.
In summary, your wishes are already in place but the "establishment" chose not to use the option on a regular basis
