What is our best 11?

Now that Stevie is back I hope the likes of Hendo will continue to express themselves rather than retreating in to their shells again and deferring to Stevie all the time. I am sure Stevie would prefer it this way as well.

I'd probably agree that that's the team, but there are a couple of issues IMO.

Sakho-Agger - our best two IMO but clearly Rodgers has reservations about pairing two left footers together. We won't know until we try.

And the big one - Gerrard. It can reasonably be argued that our midfield, and therefore team, functioned quite a lot better while he was out. No-one in their right mind would argue Allen is better than Gerrard, cos he isn't, but it's not that simple.

The best 11 individuals is not the same as the best team. Agger is my favourite defender and Gerrard, IMO, is the best ever Liverpool player - but I probably would not include them in my current best team. The fact that it's being discussed shows that the team/squad and BR are doing well

Would probably go with the same lineup with the exception of Coutinho for Gerrard.

Gerrard cannot be Number 10 any more and in the role he currently occupies I like Lucas, Hendo, Allen better as they can press and pressure more effectively and move forward more quickly.

Same for me. If its an immediate choice between coutinho and Gerrard, then for me Stevie should get the nod.
