Aston Villa (H) Buildup - Sat 5.30pm KO

City and Arsenal will have both won before we even kick off .

There's a decent chance that Tottenham, Chelsea, Man Utd and Everton will all drop points this weekend though.

Benteke will likely destroy us again after being dire all season, but I think we've got enough goals in us to put another 4 or 5 past these

I'd resist the urge to start Sturridge and leave him on the bench again for now personally.

Need to make up for the debacle of this fixture last season. Get Sturridge 60 minutes under his belt and build up his match fitness ahead of the Derby. Holt and Benteke up top will lead to a rather dreadful brand of football from Villa but could be effective against us. Their defence is just abysmal though so could be something like 4/5-2 I reckon.

I'd forgotten just how bad we were in last year's game. It was bizarre, we were all over the place. It was a bit like the Hull game this year, in that it seemed to come out of the blue.

I do fear this is all going to well this season and we're due another freak, appalling loss. There's no logic behind that though, just the nagging doubt that things never go that well for us.

Jesus lads how about a bit of positivity we are at home at Fortress Anfield against a shocking team we should win about 3 nil

Must win game. We've got to beat the teams around us. 6 pointer.

No reason we can't score yet another 5 goals in a single game. Probably more.

Saying that my worry is with our legend Stevie again and the impact on Hendo/Lucas (i.e. rendering them useless). For this reason I would leave Sturridge out until final 30 minutes of the game, and here's why:

Playing Sturridge and Suarez means a lighter midfield (if we stick with 4 at the back which I think we'll have to). A light midfield consists of Gerrard and Lucas with Henderson chucked to the left and no Coutinho. Playing 90 minutes like this will kill us structurally as it did against Hull away.

So to safeguard against that Rodgers will have to play Coutinho in Sturridge's place to allow Hendo to strengthen our very obvious soft spot.
                  One tit for another.

They're about 20 points behind us!

Still, must win to stay in the chase.

What about those not in the UK Bender? You didn't consider them did you you selfish fool? I correctly stated the day and local kick-off time. Thread title perfection. A stone cold 5 star thread.
