I just don't see how Rodgers can drop Gerrard. He's not big enough to do it. Its hard. Few managers would have the stature to do it. Fergie would have I hate to admit. Feels dirty saying it, but gerrard can't play this role.

Poor, poor first half from us. No cohesion. No short passing. Punts upfield for the best striker in Europe to chase.

That's five goals we have conceded with Gerrard as holding midfielder in only 1 and a half games - and games against mediocre opponents at that. We can't continue like this as it'll cost us a CL place. Nothing against the guy but this is not his normal game and he's making too many mistakes - including letting the striker get in front oof him for the 2nd goal. Players are just running off him.

Second half its is vital that Henderson can do his thing and pressurise further up the pitch and personally I'd bring on Allen for Coutinho to link midfield and attack - and probably Lucas for Gerrard.

He just winds me up and has done for months. Piss poor effort every game. At least Henderson, Gerrard and Coutinho track back, put the graft in even when they cock it up...

Lets hope this is a reverse of our early season form of amazing first half and dire seconds.

The defensive midfielder needs to press more than any other player, and still protect the back four positionally, Gerrard cant do that physically, and its a waste in any event. He can still pick a pass and he cant really do it from there unless we can counter attack. And to counterattack you need a solid defence.

Cissoko, Mignolet, Tourre. All the new player have been awful. Hardly a great display for the owner if we want the purse stings loosened
