What about Babb? Surely he was worthy of a mention?
    Oh I don't know.

Paul Stewart was a shocking, big money signing by Souness. Awful midfielder worse than Adam. Very very slow.

Nicky Tanner was a league 2 defender at best, very poor.

I thought Babb improved eventually especially when we went 3 at the back, he was ok.

Phil Babb has to be in that team along with Sean Dundee, john Michel ferri and the so called La Gems.

Babb was not that bad. I don't get why so many people think that.

Piechnik, Tanner, Ablett and Kvarme were all a lot worse at centre back
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

He would have made a great left back in our system.

Medals don't make you a good player, or Phil Nevile would be a footballing god.

I remember in one European game, Gerrard ran half the length of the pitch to take it off Traores feet, rather than let him play a simple 10 yard pass. His touch was that bad. That's not forgetting his amazing own goal he scored.

He was shockingly bad. He could not head the ball either. It would come off his head at weird angles.

What makes it worse is we just kept on playing him despite his obvious amazing shortcomings.

Best thing he did was after we sold him he almost decapitated Pennant, giving us a penalty (two birds with one stone).
I hear you, but nah. European Cup Hero - exempt.

AND, one of the best songs for a player ever sung - "Blame it on Traore"

Without that undoubted lack of talent, we would never have had that comedy gold.

Before I opened this thread, I had completely forgotten that the great Christian Poulsen played for us.

No chance Speedie deserves to be in there! Scored against the Mancs at OT and a couple against Everton. He wasn't great but certainly wasn't Sean Dundee levels.

I'll say something unpopular now, but I don't think Poulsen was really that awful. He was an atrocious and uninspiring signing, no doubt, and nowhere near good enough for LFC, but his actual performances often went from just regularly poor to decent. He was maybe our best performer in that thrashing we got from Berbatov. Unlike Konchesky for example, who was a disaster every single second, be it his playing or his mom's attitude towards the club. He played for the owl-faced ****house and represents on of the darkest times for this club, but maybe we would be remembering him differently in some other circumstances.

Btw, Antonio Nunez. Would've been better off just getting that 8mill for Owen.
