Match build up thread - Fulham v LFC

    V

    Fulham v Liverpool

    12 Feb 2014

    KO: 20:00

    Match of the Day 22:35 - 00:05

Liverpool return to action against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday.

The Reds will look to maintain their top-four push after Saturday's stunning 5-1 win over Arsenal.

Earlier this season, Liverpool beat Fulham 4-0 at Anfield, while last season's corresponding fixture ended 3-1 to Brendan Rodgers' men.

Unfortunately not on live TV so hopefully a few streams will be available.....

    Same again please!

Bit of a banana skin this one, but definitely a must win game.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

        Hopefully Lawro is wrong again...

What really impressed me about Liverpool's display against Arsenal at the weekend was not that they scored five when they could have scored eight, but the way the pressed the Gunners and kept pressing them when they had built a commanding lead.

It reminded me of vintage Liverpool performances at Anfield, where we suffocated the opposition.

If Reds boss Brendan Rodgers can get that happening on a regular basis, then that will be massive for them.

Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen has to decide how to approach this game after getting a very good draw at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Cottagers are at home but I don't think Meulensteen will go gung-ho - two points from those two games would be a very decent return, and he will know what will happen if he gives Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling any space. The home fans will understand that too.

        Lawro's prediction: 1-1

Play the ****er behind closed doors if you have to. Costs Fulham some money and it also means the steward concerns go away too. Shame that fans won't be able to see it but we really need to keep our momentum going.

if the FA were strong then that is what they would insist on..... or even let Liverpool bring stewards for their fans only (the Putney End of Craven Cottage is essentially a single stand with about 4 entrances - piece of piss to steward)

If this was manchester united or chelsea or someone like that - then there is no way this would just be accepted..... it is a joke....

Also, people on the radio this morning were stating that "all of their stewards are from Dagenham so can't get across london in time" - no feckin problem - get to Greenwich and get the fockin river taxi up......

Fulham should suffer for this. I am disgusted with the whole thing but to be honest the FA should grow a pair as well. What are the administrators of the Premier League doing? Surely it would make sense for all clubs to have a risk assessment with remediation actions that need to be put in place in such events. The only way this game should be legitimately postponed would be for weather reasons.

              2 further points:

              - What if this was the final week of the season - would they simply be allowed to postpone a game like this??
              - If this was due to be on television, then there is no way they wouldnt get this game on. Sky / BT would insist on it contractually....

I hope they go down this season as a result of this ****e..... imagine being a poor ****er that has travelled for this game....

also, **** the tube workers as well.......

Why should the Fulham and Liverpool fans be punished because of the Tube Strike?

I see Jordan Henderson has fractured his wrist v Arsenal but will play with a cast on.

Must have done it when he went over the barrier?

Should be fine to play on. Hopefully he accidentally whacks a few with the cast.

He's absolutely hard as nails is Henderson.

An absolute disgrace if the game is called off today as seems likely

Well if the game is going to be called off and this is the only way for it to happen. Or would you prefer we relinquish our momentum?

Agger and Johnson are back in training I see but I'd like to see the same back four from the Arsenal game, even the same team. Maybe Allen in for Gerrard to keep him fresh for the weekend ( I really want the cup as well ).
                          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

No chance they'll be available for tomorrow IMO. Wouldn't surprise me if they are in contention for Sunday though.

Do you think Gerrard can take three games in a week though?
