In terms of errors, collectively our defense has been terrible and there were very few games this year that we kept it together at the back regardless who started.
Terrible is perhaps a bit much, still only let in 32 goals in a team that plays on the offense for most of the season. Add to that the changing defense the entire season. There have been some real blunders this season, but there is every season, and in every team. Most goals are down to defensive errors, just a question of how big and I don't think we are outright terrible in that department. Been poor - yes, terrible - no.

We do need to get a steady four working together soon, but this season have almost run it's course on that.

Hopefully it will become more steady soon, and I reckon Agger will give a bit more calm at the back than Toure provides at the moment. Not least because he is good at covering when Skrtel makes his not so good pusing up on the midfield runs.

It's great to see the entire bench celebrating like that, from the doc to bit-role players like Aspas (in fact, this has endeared me a little to him!). Shows the commitment and collectiveness of the club at the moment.

I would just like to point out that Reina is the best goalkeeper I have seen at the club in my lifetime (I'm 37).

He had one bad season but was incredible in every other he was here. His distibution is sorely missed in the style we play.

I hope he gets his move to Barca or all will have been for bugger all!

I actually didn't realise Mingolet is 6ft 4!! Once the lad gets better at commanding his box he will be outstanding.

Have to agree in saying that the criticism of Toure is a bit harsh. Yes he has been pretty poor of late but everyone was kissing his arse nad saying he was the next cult hero at the beginning of the season.

Football fans can be so fickle...I know this because I can be as bad as most of them.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

                  Anyone hear about this?

Fulham assistant manager Ray Wilkins admitted he had a touchline altercation with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers during the 3-2 defeat at Craven Cottage on Wednesday and left the bench only 10 minutes into the match, but insists the relationship between the pair is now "sound as a pound".

It's off the BBC gossip page with a link to the S*n so probably bull****..

Agreed. A **** end to his time here but he was the best keeper in my lifetime too. Better than Brucey IMO. I'm 36.

I never saw anything on the highlights, you would think that if the cameras had picked it up we would have seen it by now.

Anybody who doesn't remember that and doesn't see that Mignolet is great is an idiot.
Reina was poor for us last season, too many howlers I'm afraid, before that he was a good keeper for us but at his age he was only going to continue declining, when you factor in that plus him and his daddy publically angling for a move to Barca plus his huge wages then IMO the decision to replace him with a younger less error prone keeper was the right one IMO.
TBH this argument is getting boring let's just leave it for now.

The point being, despite various defences in front of him, our defensive record was always one of teh best in the league, he was the only constant.

Last season was under the same manager when the whole team was struggling adjusting to a new system, yet at this stage he was only 2 goals worse off than Mignolet and by the end of the season could likely have a better record. If you think we are so much better off now that you can look back and laugh, that's up to you. I don't see it.

Because the plan was to sell him to Barca for a similar fee and save a fortune on wages. The club hadn't planned on Barca pulling out and us being forced to loan him out.

And as for the Henderson quote you're taking one example and using it to suit your argument. If you can find me a quote with BR saying Pepe was let go for financial reasons then I'll concede I was wrong.
Ok, maybe we should believe Rodgers when he said he bough Mignolet with the plan for him and Pepe to stay.

I agree with your last sentence though.

I'm not sure you would find as many howlers last season for Reina as you would Mignolet this season. Not as many outstanding saves either mind you. I thought Reina improved as the season went on IMO.

Not sure that your age based comment holds a lot of water.

Still Rodgers had to have a keeper he had faith in and you are probably right that his wages were and issue.
