I seem to find myself coming to the defence of Skrtel all the time. I don't mean to but he has been superb this season. Think that his performances has got the plaudits he deserves.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostIf both Skrtel and Agger were gone this summer, I wouldn't be upset.
We need to rebuild our defence.
Wouldn't be bothered if Agger left.

IMO he has been awful for Liverpool FC. I'd be surprised if he is here next season.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostHe does a job that will never stand out as such. Just keeps things ticking over. That said, he'd have had a couple of tap ins had our strikers actually passed when he was better placed.

The problem with Skrtel is that he will never be the reliable, error free CB we need. Top teams need consistency from their defence, and he's way too erratic.Originally posted by danperkins View PostI seem to find myself coming to the defence of Skrtel all the time. We did close down, but high tempo at a big Emirates pitch isn't easy. Arsenal were at home, they were better in possession and had fans behind them. Plus we played midweek, with minimum changes to personnel hard to play fast tempo.Originally posted by baitman View Postyes we created chances, but we were not getting the numbers and options around the box like we need to unlock their tight defence.
only seen allen contribute something close to supporting the attack once. coutinho was wasteful, but maybe arsenal tried their best to crowd him.
when we lost possession there was none of the high tempo pressing that wins us games. this is were we have lost the initiative.Forwards.......

He certainly can be rash but surely no denying he has been one of the best CB's in the league this season.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostThe problem with Skrtel is that he will never be the reliable, error free CB we need. Don't worry about defending Skrtel - the vast majority of objective Liverpool fans can see that he's having an excellent season.Originally posted by danperkins View PostI seem to find myself coming to the defence of Skrtel all the time.
