Allen seems to offer nothing. Was quite pleased with his signing but think injuries hit him hard in terms of progress. Just cant see where he fits now.

Gerrard will make the sitting position his. Coutinho is brilliant and Henderson starts every time over Allen. Covers more ground, gets forward and sets up loads more attacks

What basic armchair fans don't see is the tactical intelligence of players. Adam in the final third when on his game, is a threat. Was for Blackpool and been in his game for Stoke lately. Great MOTD player. Allen is opposite. His off the ball intelligence is first class. He is always an option on the pitch when team in possession. Off the ball he puts himself in positions on the pitch that make it difficult for the opposition.

But there is no doubt that in a team of the quality LFC now have, he does need to start offering more in possession to be a regular. As back up he's good mind, as he can slot in for anyone in the midfield and do a decent job. But he's a 6/7 out of 10 sort of player. Needs to add another 1 to those ratings.

Never said he wasn't mate but 7 goals and 3 assists this season ain't too shabby. For me Adam is at his level with Stoke & Allen was at his level with Swansea.

As already mentioned it felt nice to establish that we're better than them, even though we lost. Battered at our place and clinging on for an undeserved, poxy win at home.

Back to the game - Brendan's team selection, set up and tactics were again spot on. He's still young (I would say that - same age as me ) but he's developing and maturing into a fantastic manager.
