I think plenty of people have held their hands up and given Jones credit where it was due. He had a good game. But the tip over was poor and unnecessary...even if it didn't lead directly to the goal.

He is a poor player, IMO it's not abuse to state something that has been proven to be correct throughout his entire career.

Seems a very nice bloke though & awesome hair too

He's better at dealing with crosses than Mignolet, who's absolutely piss poor on that front.
        Are we winning?

I'd agree with that. Even though he's a bit haphazard, at least he comes for them. I suspect Mignolet's problem is a confidence one, not helped by an ever changing and pretty dodgy back four in front of him.

Mignolet is pretty awful at crosses .... great shot stopper but definitely a bit of a flapper, as is Jones to IMO although Jones at least shows for the cross.

Mignolet is a brilliant shot stopper but as regards dealing with crosses, set pieces etc at 25 i don't think it's a facet of his game that he can improve unfortunately.

The feeling I get is that if they could pick the winners their order of preference would be

Us - for the romantic aspect, underdog, return to power
Chelsea - because they worship Mourinho
Arsenal - because they've surprised people
City - doesn't really write any headlines does it?

              Fair do's. thanks gents.

Nothing to do with me being aussie

The tip over didnt bother me. I was more worried about it rebounding somewhere scary since he couldnt grab it properly as it was too close to the bar. Safety first.

I have no problem at all with Jonesie tipping that over, he stopped it going between the posts, so fine by me. (if he thought there was a chance it could go in, and he didn't feel comfortable catching, then make it safe. imo)

As a team we deal with what comes after.

He was most definately not the reason we lost, so it's a non issue for me, we could pick on any number of players in any one game and find indirect fault if we wanted to.

I think Jones has improved. Our problem is that we don't have a wholly reliable keeper at the moment. Both are prone to the odd howler.

How's he been doing out there anyway?

Still think Mignolet edges it, but it's very close
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Reina's definitely the better keeper. No doubt about it.

Made plenty of clangers and getting beaten at his near post a lot. Same as usual really. Did have a good spell in between but then got injured.

A Daily Mail article (with quotes from Reina) this week/late last seemed to imply he'd be looking to stay on in Italy post the loan so don't think he'll be back alas. I think he's better than Migs but then again I thought we should have forked out for Begovic in the first place. Hopefully Migs will get better but his aerial nervousness needs to be addressed.
