Not sure about that mate. Agreed that the outcome is zero points but, if we're set up to score 3 or 4 a game and to take a couple of goals 'collateral damage' then I can live with that. When we lose one 4-3 then that's when the concept has failed. Losing 1-0 to a bus parking team has a different effect but doesn't make the manager look as foolish. IMO

It doesn't mean the whole concept has failed at all though does it? Both approaches can end in defeat.
The perceived foolishness is irrelevant to that really. In any case there are plenty of people who moan about the idiocy of over cautious managers.Last edited by Red_Polo; 28-02-14, 04:24 PM.Like blood on iron

Apart from the fact he never even mentioned Mourinho and said “It is about winning and that’s what professional sport is about at this level." anyway.Originally posted by RedReet View PostWell I think this follows on from BR's Mourino style comments and I've heard a few fans saying similar.
Just makes me feel a bit like Newcastle or Arsenal, or even Moyes, saying we don't need to win to be superior because we play better football (obviously Moyes never played better football than anybody, but he's the face of 'not having to win to be a winner').

I'm off out, but I'll hoke out the quotes I'm talking about tomorrow. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Same here.Originally posted by john316 View PostThink I'd actually be tempted to shift Johnson and Flanagan around. I think Flanno looks better at LB than RB.
He was excellent as a LB until GJ got hurt and even though Cissokho has been playing little bit better as of late I'd go with GJ as a RB and Flanno as a LB tomorrow.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

We are this season's Atletico with a raucous South American striker, skillful supporting cast and a young improving midfielder. Ok crap comparison aside, this is shaping up to be a very exciting season but every game gives me butterflies despite us being the underdogs.
What are the thoughts of Chelsea and Man City fans considering they've dropped a few points to **** teams this season? Was muß, das muß.
