And to answer my own question, winning a penalty does NOT count as an assist.

He's a superb talent. Be some competition to land him. Southampton have some great up and coming talent.

We played like would be champions in that second half. Calm, calculated and got control of the game back when Southampton looked like getting a definite ascendency. We weathered the storm and Rodgers's substitution was key.

Allen was fantastic for me. Won balls, kept us ticking in that midfield.

It's on and we are starting to believe.

            Are we winning?

Great result, looks great to see the log with us sitting in second.

Great result and a clean sheet.

I didn't think that the performance was great, in that we didn't blow them away, it was a more a professional performance in the way we went about it.

Flano is lucky he's a scouser cause if he was an import he'd be getting slaughtered on here.

Great result & it's a shame there's an international on next week as I'd love to get at the scum right now.

What a ****ing result this is, puts us in a great position now and we have to be looking at the title after that. We've gone to Southampton, scored 3 and Suarez and Sturridge made a mess of a couple of good situations they would usually be clinical in. Scary stuff.

Gerrard was immense in the 2nd half for me kept it simple and broke up play.

Sterling is the best young player in the league, he's a level above and plays with a lot of maturity didn't sulk about being on the bench came on and changed the flow of the game not just with his goal but his clever play.

CLEAN SHEET Mignolet was better today and Skrtel was very good but for me the most telling thing was our composure which has been lacking most of the season.

Almost a fully fit squad by the time the next games roll round, were looking solid for the run in.

3-0 away from home at Southampton is a brilliant result; they had their moments in the first half and no surprise really as they're a bloody good side but we rode it out and could have had 1 or 2 more today as well.

Excellent result and a good professional performance from a tough place to visit.
