That corner from Suarez, so close!

edit: Well i say corner, but it was clearly a shot on goal.

Would love us to go get Luke Shaw in the summer. He'd be worth every penny and with CL football and FSG willing to splash the cash you never know.

Can't believe how relaxed I was for this game... Arsenal losing helped. Onwards and upwards. I think a top 3 is ours to lose now. Maybe the title?

Excellent away result today against a strong opponent. Really happy with it, but had major doubts after the first half. We wre lucky to up 1 by then.

But the second half performance was great, and a great call substituting Coutinho for Sterling - changed the game in many ways.

Happy we are still pusing on for the top, and have overtaken Arsenal now. City can still come back, but I will take 2nd place for some days

                No borderline about it.
                3rd place. Worst champions ever.

There is as much chance of us winning the league though. If they win their game in hand, they are only 4 points behind. We have to play all the same teams. I for one wont be able to unclench my buttocks for a few more weeks yet.

If Spurs win their game in hand they'll be 6 points behind us. If Everton win their game in hand they'll be 8 points behind us.

We're in the driving seat and have momentum.

Agreed. 4th place looks safer & safer. More so this week because I feel Everton, THFC & MUFC would have looked at our fixture & identified it as a week in which they'll catch up. EFC have another 3 easier games in which they'd have fancied their chances if catching us. They'll be gutted to not gain points and I imagine if we beat MUFC all three below will give up the ghost of catching us.

I said earlier that if we beat the Saints away from home I'd believe we should be looking up as opposed to behind. I'll stick by that. That was our toughest away fixture left. I include the Mancs in that. At home we can beat anyone on our day. We have a fantastic chance.
                      Forwards.......

Oh yeah. I was looking at City. Forgot we were second

We just need to keep winning. We were fighting for fourth. We kept winning, and now we are fighting for third. And looking at Arsenal's forthcoming fixtures, we can be optimistic about nudging them into a battle for fourth with Spurs rather than us, unless we completely collapse.

                            Arsenal fixtures:

                            Tue 11th Mar 19.45 Bayern Munich A

                            Sun 16th Mar 16.00 Tottenham Hotspur A

                            Sat 22nd Mar 12.45 Chelsea A

                            Sat 29th Mar 17.30 Manchester City H

                            Sun 6th Apr 13.30 Everton A

If we go on and beat Man City, we'll be in a fight for second. And if we can beat Chelsea, then we'll be fighting for the title.

Just keep going, one game at a time, and if we keep chipping away we can do this!

What a save that was by mignolet early in the second half.

Very important.....obviously....but the fact Southampton started the second in much the same fashion as how the finished the first, not letting them back in was crucial.
