Mamadou returns for West Ham clash

Brendan Rodgers has made just one change to his Liverpool line-up for the Reds' Barclays Premier League fixture against West Ham United at Upton Park this afternoon.

The manager has selected a near identical side to the one which thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 4-0 at Anfield last Sunday, bringing Mamadou Sakho into the side in place of Daniel Agger.

For Sakho, the game brings a first start since the powerful Frenchman lined up against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on December 29.

Elsewhere, Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge are up top for the Reds with Raheem Sterling and Philippe Coutinho supplementing the visitors' attacking threat.

The Liverpool XI: Mignolet, Johnson, Flanagan, Sakho, Skrtel, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Suarez, Sturridge.

Substitutes: Jones, Toure Cissokho, Lucas, Moses, Allen, Aspas.

Beautiful team. Hopefully the defenders perform without Agger babysitting them.

Pleased to see Sakho back in, I think he'll help with dealing with the likes of Nolan and Carroll

Hope we can get a clean sheet without Agger in the team. Pleased to see Coutinho and Sterling being kept in.

Agger a worry, but WH still won't score enough to trouble us.

                  Hope to see Rodgers go...

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Scolari apparently at the match, so be good to see a MOTM performance from Phil.

I predicted a 2-1 to us tight game in the prediction thread but i hope our form is actually consistent once again and we do them proper

Yeah....be nice to see Sakho again, but it's a change to defence that's been doing alright lately.

My only slight worry here is that Carroll and Nolan are the physical type of players that normally destroy good old Marty Skrtel, it would be OK if Agger's calming influence was there but he's on the bench and Sakho hasn't played in months.

I'd be more worried about Downing's wing-wizardry...........so man of the match automatically goes to whomever hands him his spine in the first 5mins.

agger is definitely the brains at the back. lets hope skrtel doesnt melt without dan doing the driving.
