This whole business about them fielding a "weakened" team is such a load of bollix. I mean really, unless they drop in a bunch of U21s they're all first team squad members. Their squad is built to compete on multiple fronts - any mention of a weakened team is purely mind games on their part. A thinly veiled attempt to get LFC to slack off and not take the game seriously. They might not all be first choice starters in Chelsea's squad, but any one of those players would be a guaranteed starter in most other PL teams.

I more or less feel this way too. Prefer Everton by a mile. I only prefer the Mancs at the moment because they're not competing. But whenever they bounce back my preference for them will immediately dissolve. But at the end of the day the most insufferable Man U fans are preferable to the worst Chelsea fans and that says something.

Still feel as though a lot of other fans prefer Chelsea to us which is laughable but they're just bitter. Esp Spurs fans. They of all people should hate Chelsea most.

My two cents:

Chelsea have zero reason to park the bus. They will come at us and they have great players all over the pitch regardless. But we also have the ability, with our attack, to go at them and break down their weakened back five (Schwarzer). My main concern is Matic/ Mikel/ Lampard vs Allen/ Gerrard- I can't see us playing Lucas? Likely, it's Coutinho/ Sterling/ Sturridge/ Suarez- if they play deep, we will get countered and often because Coutinho generally goes missing in defense and while Sterling tracks back well, he's wider than the narrow Lamps/Matic/Mikel formation. If they play it through the middle, especially if Schürrle plays (he is great on the counter), we could be in trouble. I worry about our set up against whoever they play, but we have to go for it. They just don't concede easily and we need to stay tight at the back... we've been shipping too many goals and they do not. Going to be tight regardless.
