Here's to the best day ever!

    Or maybe not.

    We'll see.

Let's chuck into here our thoughts and feelings and running commentary of the day's proceedings.

It's the first time in years and more that we've gone into the last day of the season with a chance of winning the league. Amazing huh? Can you even imagine what that feels like? Now you don't have to.

So **** it. Enjoy it for what it is.

Where are you? What you doing? Are you crapping your pants? Are you resigned to inevitable defeat? Are you wishing for the miracle? Of course you are.

This is the definitive build up, match, post match and everything to do with the 11th May 2014 thread. (Sorry Muds).
    Oh I don't know.

Bitter Sweet really.... Resigned to runners up, no one ever likes that, but really delighted with the vast progress we have made. Today is about cementing that second place and building on that for start of next season.

Here's to the best day ever!

Can't ****in wait. Who has the honour of starting a we are the champions thread if the miracle happens.

My son has a quarter final game at the same time so I can't watch it live. Need to watch a recording as soon as I get home.

And it's Mothers Day here so we are about to start a barbecue party. Already got my first rum and coke watching Santos vs Pachuca.

It's going to be a long night and an early start and I cannot wait.

Come in Liverpool, come on West Ham. Let's go again.

          12 hours to go.

Anyone heading over to Man City's hotel now?

removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

              Absolutely

While the most likely league table at 5pm tonight will leave us all ruing a missed opportunity, I refuse to let that spoil what has been the most outright enjoyable league season for a really long time. And the most exciting thing now is the thought of what is to come, for while this season is ending our rise back to the top of European football is only beginning. If we don't win it this year, well that's just because we're saving it for an even more glorious league & CL double next time around.

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
              Mine angry and defrauded young?

I'm gonna have to hoover the house and do some chores or something, because I'm up and fidgety.

I'm not sure if that was due to my OCD senses tingling at an all encompassing thread or because there are some important football matches, but I'm fairly sure it's the former.

I think it's gonna be one of those days. The every team can beat anyone on their day, the fitting end to a season, the romance of the beautiful game, the magic of the Premiership and every other cliche in between.

I don't see it as much of a missed opportunity. If we were genuine league contenders from the start of the season like Chelsea or Man City, we'd have had multiple chances to screw up and come back.

We've gone on a remarkable 11 game winning streak to become contenders with only one chance to lose it and unfortunately it happened.

I don't think we've bottled it at all, in fact I think we've just built the foundation for more consistent and solid campaign next season. If you adjust your thinking, you should be even more excited!

Let's spank Newcastle and set a couple more records and look forward to the World Cup, major signings, some defensive adjustments and the 2014-15 season!!

Not gone to bed yet. Maybe I should just stay up. 2.15am here.

Amazingly not drank too much. Maybe 1/3 bottle of rum.

Whatever happens tomorrow/today I'm going to be so happy. Great night out. Last day of an amazing season and Champions League football to look forward to next season.

What's not to like about that?

And if we actually end up champions **** knows what's going to happen here but every bloody Mexican within a few miles of me are going to know Liverpool are champions and we are the real deal.

Woke up at 6.30am and have not been able to get back to sleep. I'm too excited about might what happen but at the same time I'm resigned to runners up. It's been a tremendous season and I'm praying the footballing gods will help us out.

I don't really have that nervous/excited feeling that I've had previously, hopefully that will change closer to the game.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
