I can't wait for the summer.
This, actually, is one of the few negatives of the season and gives an element of concern about next season because we clearly need to buy well this summer.
It's all well and good complaining about all the money City has but we'd spend it if we had it but you still need to make the right buys.

Disappointed for Liverpool, but coming from 7th with a club that almost went bankrupt with a team full of dross not too long ago, this season has been a massive achievement. Can't wait for next season, famous CL nights back in Anfield.
Absolutely, congratulations to City. I don't want to be bitter about how much money they have. They played some fantastic football and the two best teams of the season finished top.
I hope we are the top two teams next season with us on top.
What an incredible season cannot wait for next season.

Defo my 3rd favourite league season since I started following the Reds 38 years ago.
We need to start next season better than this. The 11 wins 3 draws and 5 losses start to the season was the reason the 11 game winning streak didn't give us clear blue water between us and our two main rivals.
Can't argue with the 15 wins 3 draws and 1 loss in the second half of the season though. That's an amazing run as is the 101 league goals we scored
A third striker (the guy from Swansea looks good), a winger, a midfielder, a right back and a centre back and we should be good to go in 2014/15

Bony? Nah. Don't see him suiting our style of play at all.Originally posted by ChrisDR1968 View PostA third striker (the guy from Swansea looks good), a winger, a midfielder, a right back and a centre back and we should be good to go in 2014/15

Absolutely don't understand the narrative that we wont have a better chance than this season. There is so much scope for development and progress in so many aspects of this club.
Manager - He has shown that he can handle the responsibility, tactically intelligent and flexible and demonstrated clearly that he is willing to learn. Purely from his role, I think he will be better equipped next season. Most importantly he has shown the ability to work with players and improve them. I know several of us are looking for complete defense overhaul, but I think the biggest improvement is going to come from the manager who is going to work with the players on game management.
Squad - We have a small squad but there is so much latent talent in our squad. Coutinho, Sterling have so much more to offer. Henderson hopefully will continue on his upward trajectory. Even Sturridge, as impressive as he has been this season, I think has one more level to go up to. Flanagan will be better next season. Hopefully Texeira, iLori, Ibe, Suso will start making their mark next seasons.
New signings - Unlike last summer, there is a buzz around our club. Players want to join us. We are starting to see newspaper reports of Lallana being interested in joining us even though the Mancs and Chelsea are interested. Could we have dreamed of that last summer. Players are looking at our manager, style of play, the team spirit, the improvements which our coaching is providing all of our attacking and midfield players and wanting to join us. They look at our owners and their track record with sports franchises and know that they mean business. Also even if FFP did not deliver as much it promises when the concept was mooted, it will definitely arrest City and Chelsea hoarding up players. City might have won the league we must have the biggest positive buzz in England.

I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

hell of an effort - still a bit gutted cause we came so close but on reflection 12 wins and a draw out of your last 14 games of a season....i would take that run every single year without question....cause at some point that will win you a league.
Plenty of positives
we've played great football.
We have a great young team.
a confident likeable, quality manager
owners that don't cause issues
a few top class players
great fans (surely potential signings must look at that and think wow)
champions league football back
negatives
squad is a bit lightweight - but we knew that was due to not having european football/trimming it down and i expect it will change for next year
still have some issues with the defence/keeper - we seem to struggle with any sort of physical presence playing against us and any sort of pressure/high balls cause panic - not convinced the defence knows what mignolet is doing and that mignolet doesn't know what the defence is doing - it needs looking at.
for next season - more of the same please
- add 3 or 4 top class players (cb/lb/cm/attacker) to the squad and maybe one or two decent squad players (gk/forward)
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
