Brendan has been making a bit of effort to keep Borini involved the squad/lads this week. All a bit odd really.
Brendan is probably spending time talking to Borini and helping the lad assess his situation here. I reckon he'll handle it the way he did Shelvey and tell Borini upfront that he likes him as a player, but cannot promise him playing time and that he might be better off at Sunderland.

Sturridge, Lambert & Remy. Enough?
Last season we had Suarez, Sturridge & Aspas with less games.
I guess it could be argued that if we play a 433 system then maybe three strikers are enough. But we'd be better off with 4. Who would want to be 4th choice? If Borini is happy to be that man & fight for starts, then I'd be more than happy to keep him. It's not like we need to the money. He's not on big wages either.

Agreed. I think Rodgers is an honest bloke. Tells players where they sit in the pecking order. If they want to stay & fight he gives them the opportunity. If they want to leave then if a suitable offer comes he will let them.
