That was certainly entertaining but alarming as well. It's clear as day we need new fullbacks for both sides. We also need a proper striker. Sturridge will struggle mightily also without one

Totally lucked out to see that match in person! Felt like a league match in the second half. Had fun with my 6 year old, he made a new friend on the train...

Anyway, I thought we played great in the attacking half in the 2nd half. Could not see from my end if Sterling was onside at the end, but looked that way on the replay... near Mignolet's goal for the penalties. Super fun night.

I do think we're in trouble without a new LB and RB. Sakho came on and played really well, and I think Coates is a viable squad player. But Enrique and especially Johnson, not good at all. Robinson looked decent but still, too many people getting past the wings; City seemingly walking it along the touchline to Mignolet's posts. Scary.

Also, Sturridge seems off. Tired? coming back into form? He did well holding up play, but so far, his two assists have come from comical slips in the box and the ball falling to another player and he is just off shooting.

Coutinho looks great on the ball, but it comes in to him and sticks and he tries a Hollywood through ball OR everyone gets on the shoulder of the last defender, stops moving, and waits for him to slip them in or for him to shoot. His shooting is just off the mark, I feel for him, but it is not happening; if he could finish he'd like Sterling he'd be world class.

Can impresses me a LOT. Henderson and Raheem the same. No way we can start Lambert ahead of Raheem, he's just too good right now and adds so much to the attack, passing, running, scoring, all of it. He and Henderson and Can are the future, and the future is now...

Anyway, was complaining about the price, but the experience of taking my son to his second Liverpool match was fantastic, especially us fighting back from a deficit twice to get the draw, win on a missed call (I thought) and then beat them on meaningless penalties. So happy right now... I'll shut up... *ha* #YNWA

Sounds like we are going to carry on conceding ****e goals this season. Every goal we've conceded so far has been ****e defending or bad luck. Lovren has a lot of work to do!

Both goals were a bit of bad luck to be fair. We couldn't cope with Navas as he was outstanding.

But city have got their own defensive issues so I won't worry at all. We were excellent.

I got my old man a ticket and flight to the final at the Sun Dome for his 70th present. Can't believe that he might be watching Liverpool and United.

Glad i stayed up although bit tired now. Two new fullbacks & a CF are definitely a necessity. Between Enrique & Robinson, both got absolutely roasted by Navas. Kelly & Johnson on the other side were just as bad, Kelly has an excuse.. Johnson is just done.

Thought Sterling was outstanding, man of the match.. what a player! Coutinho has great approach play and technique, but his final ball & his shooting are pretty bloody frustrating!!! I thought Hendo had good second half & Can was very impressive. Hendo & Coutinho really need to get in the goals this season. I do worry about Gerrard, just hasn't look right since the slip, games passing him by & doesn't look right mentally. His whole body language is all wrong.. poor ****er said last 3 months was worst of his life. Hopefully he gets back to form soon.

Felt sorry for Lambert, just not mobile enough for the position and job he was asked to do. Don't know if we should be concerned about Sturridge, he hasn't played well for awhile now & his form dipped at the end of last season. In World Cup or in pre season he hasn't looked sharp either.

Anyways was great game to watch, attacking wise we were brilliant in the last 20.. that amazing goal by Sterling should have stood. Defensively we were an absolute shambles, although so were City to be fair.
