    Eek!

It occurs to me that the past few times we have finished second in the league, the following summer has been charactarised by disaster in the transfer market (Diouf, Diao, Aquilani in, Alonso out), followed by a dreadful league underperformance in the subsequent season.

Could this be the year when we crack the curse?

    Kill some time and discuss...
    Oh I don't know.

Thanks for the positive outlook Dom that's made me feel great.

It's a topic for discussion. I've not expressed an opinion, positive nor negative either way.
          Oh I don't know.

You could also add the summer of Downing, Henderson and Adam after the first 6 great months under Kenny.
I wear my heart on my profile name.

It's been my one worry since we lost the league.I simply can't take it for granted we'll be up there again next season nevermind every season. As you say we've seen it all before. The fact we've performed well for a season and a half makes me believe we will be up there again and it wasn't a flash in the pan but the proof of the pudding will remain in the eating!

It's a massive summer,we simply have to get it right.

                It's a valid point.

After the season we finished second under Rafa, I was adamant the following year was *the* year. Looking back, we weren't in the best position both on and off the field; perhaps that was our peak.

This coming season feels different. We're stable as a club off the field and we're still yet to enter the third year of a four year plan. We are ahead of schedule with the added bonus of experience. I don't think you can underestimate the desire last season's run will have generated in our youthful squad, the lessons they have learnt and what Rodgers will have learnt both from his players and himself.

It's still a massive-must-win transfer window. Rodgers has got to get the balance right of nurturing the current squad, expanding it enough to compete on several levels all whilst maintaining that hunger.

I'm going to sit back and enjoy the ride.

This occured to me some time ago. I have chosen to disregard it as I have enough to worry about. (Anyone found me a job yet? )
                  3rd place. Worst champions ever.

when you look at the houllier summer - we signed the new zidane in cheyrou, the new viera in diao and the new fockin pele in Diouf.

I remember the same summer we were linked with Duff instead of Diouf and Houllier made the case for Diouf. That was the beginning of the end for him in my view.

I would prefer if we signed one or two top players rather than 4 or 5 very good players to be honest. I would rather spunk it all on just Sanchez instead of Lallana, Lovern and Shaquiri. And then next season go after Mangala or someone of that standard.

We are at the stage as a team where we need to take baby steps to get better and better.....and it is a fine line...

Those teams peaked. We had settled squads that were the managers' visions.

We're just beginning. The identity of the team was only figured out during the 2nd half of the season.

In short, we're winning the league next season.

our current team are on the way up. the worry for me is how the extra cup and CL games will stretch us and if we can spread the games out through the squad members without diluting the quality of out team on the pitch too much.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
