Bogdán, Randall, Ilori, Jones, Maguire; Chirivella, Stewart, Brannagan; Kent, Sinclair, Ojo

Kelleher, McLaughlin (on for Stewart at 63 mins), Hart, O'Hanlon (on for Chirivella at 63 mins), M Gomes (on for Kent at 88 mins)

Once again Ojo looks like a player ready for the first team, really good play across the front from him. Kent, McLaughlin, Maguire, Jones, Brannagan all playing very well.

He is off.

Sinclair to be fair to him, isn't just loitering about - he is playing to win the game and every game he plays and knocks in another goal helps preserve his value. Plus he is the only actual regular striker in the U21 squad.

A pity, Tricky-Smith always struck me as a capable midfielder, someone who could find a clever pass. Still I suppose they have to make tough decisions based on likelihood of getting beyond the U21s and with Brannagan (Barca target!), Stewart, Chivirella and maybe Rossiter (still no signs of a new deal there btw) all moving into the first team training squad ahead of him Tricket-Smith who is 21 in September would be lucky to break through

Only just saw the last 8 mins or so of the first half but even in that short time the kids came close to scoring two well worked goals.

What a lovely goal - 0-2 Herbie Kane with a perfect free-kick up and down.

Another great flowing attack, Woodburn denied by the keeper smothering the ball at his feet.

Everton with a rare clean strike at goal - well saved at the expense of a corner, which comes to nothing.

Another fine move ends with a pass flashing past the goalmouth - Woodburn couldn't connect.

0-3 WOOOOOOODBURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRN!

Great goal, as he had the goal in his sights, then he didn't, had to go round defenders and back to where he started then able to shoot.

Brookes Lennon on for Gomes

Liverpool's midfield was taking the piss for a minute there, passing for fun and Everton ended up looking on.

Ejaria, dancing like he was on fire in a very tight spot near the corner flag surrounded by blue shirts but still got the ball out to Lennon, came to nothing though.

Alexander-Arnold with a strike on goal having picked up a perfect weighted pass from Ejaria but he blasts high and wide.

Peno to Liverpool - Phillips brought down. Alexander-Arnold takes the peno and scores

0-4

FT 0-4 Philips, Kane, Woodburn and Alexander-Arnold.

Each goal was of quality and they created several other chances with some very smooth progressive football. Excellent performances all round with Alexander-Arnold, Kane, Ejaria, Phillips catching the eye in particular.

Good stuff, the last game of the season that was for the U21s. Supposed to have been an evening KO though....anyway they avoid the drop. Not that league positions mean a fat lot when first half of the season was a mix and match of lesser talents for the most part.
