He got better in the 2nd half but still not quite there yet, I think it'll take him a while to acclimatise to the PL but he's got the potential to be very good IMO anyway

I'd agree with that, he certainly needs to work on the physical side of thingsOriginally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostUnless he does some serious gym work on his core he will flop. He's too lightweight and easily out muscled. I reckon next season he will be a different beast. Very early days but he needs to look at sterling.

It's basic technical skill that I'm not seeing. He cannot even receive a ball. Everytime the ball is passed to him it seems to bounce two or three meters away from him and he loses it. It's a basic requirement of a footballer to be able to receive a ball.
His positioning seems to be good, he seems to receive the ball in dangerous areas but then he ****s it up because he isn't capable to receiving a pass.

I'm not a huge believer in having to bulk up to play football. Just look at the german national side, all incredibly fit skinny lads, its the pace, technique, work rate and mentality that does the business.
Markovic needs to find the mental strength to compete here, then the rest should fall into place. Its his mentality thats lightweight in my eyes, he needs to believe in himself.SakhoPotatoes

A strong core is required, like sterling. I'm not advocating pumping iron and ending up like Arnie. I don't see a whole host of Germans succeeding here right now. Ozil is a good example.Originally posted by tanner View PostI'm not a huge believer in having to bulk up to play football. ah right, I'd agree with the core strength thing, Ronaldo was a good example of that too.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostA strong core is required, like sterling. I think most of the german national side would do very well over here. Ozil's not bad, just not great.SakhoPotatoes

He wasn't as average as Markovic.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostIt's just the worry of making a mistake. Henderson was very average to start with.
I know I keep having a pop at him but I do want him to succeed, there must be something there as he's cost us an absolute bomb.
I'm sure the lad will come good in time. I think BR is best just giving him a free role, let him roam and chase and I think that will help relax him a bit and give him some more confidence.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football.
