Ridiculous the way it has played out. I agree about a loan to EPL club but he's far better than championship stuff, he held his own at benfica.

I really think that his energy will be needed along the frontline/ at the top of midfield at some stage this season.

We won't get anywhere near back what was invested. We'll be lucky to get £10m back for the pair of them . How many players that have been shipped out on loan have come back to the club and got into the first team?

If we were serious about keeping Markovic then at worst he'd have been loaned to a prem team but he's been shipped off to Turkey. I'm glad to see the back of Mario like everyone else but IMO Markovic wasn't given a fair chance and the fact we are effectively giving up on a lad signed for £20m is a massive disappointment.

And no one has mentioned anything about sacking someone.

The frustration of transfer fees aside, it's more that you ask yourself where was the strategy with this signing. He was bought to play in a 4-3-3/ 4-2-3-1 either in the no.10 or as a wide forward.

He didn't and ended up at wingback due to the change in formation (wasn't part of the plan).

Now we are back to playing 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 and all of a sudden he's less ready to play in the first team two years ago.

Not sacking as such, but I did mention loaning Brendan out for a season.

I liked him, problem was that there wasn't a natural position on the team for him. He's young enough to still have a chance to fulfill his potential.
