What's is odd about the Markovic deal is that he wasn't really played and when he was he was played out of position. Has he really been given a fair chance ? I don't think so.

James Pearce came out and said that Rodgers didn't think he was physically suited to our league but when the chance came to send him to Watford and find out one way or the other he was sent to turkey instead. Maybe it was too late for that deal to get done but sending a young 20m player to Turkey isn't about getting the player ready for premiership

I don't think this is about whether the committee signings are good enough to succeed in this league.

He did play on the wing early last season, but he didn't do very much, just ran about. I reckon he was moved back a bit because he had the legs to get up and down the pitch and we'd given up on him being much of an attacking threat. Whether it was a 'fair chance' is open to debate, but he did play in a more advanced position early on.

But anyway, he's a fanny, even his red card was a result of being scared of someone closing him down. It was obvious from day one.

Won't he be in the CL or Europa? Also, I'm not sure the Turkish league is a place for weak players either. It will be interesting to see if he plays in the derby...

They are in the EL and yes Turkey is not for shrinking violets. Either he will grow in to it quickly or come back in therapy.

I'd like him to do well in Turkey: shave his head (Mascherano), get some tattoos (Skrtel), get a crunching tackle (Gerrard) and crack a few in from the edge of the box (Couts).

Then, he'd be welcomed back with open arms...

433 would surely have suited Markovic, given that he was allegedly signed as a winger! (Although reading other stuff on him, he was described as a behind the striker player)

Raul Meireles? (Apart from the crunching tackle )

Meireles was the 'original pussy' on here if I remember correctly, so Markovic has that going for himself anyway.

                        Hiding behind him presumably.

Pace, direct running, perfectly able to play wide when we have virtually no wingers.......I just don't understand it.

yep agree but, to be fair, it looks like he's enjoying himself out there which could prove dividends for us in the long run.

On the other hand, you could argue that the Turkish League won't 'prepare' you for it's tougher English counterpart.

The loaning of Markovic and failure to sign another wide option was one of the stranger decisions of the summer. Only positive I see coming from it is that Ibe will get more games to develop (which it looks like he really needs to do).
