    Bellamy for Cisse

Having seen Bellamy play for the Reds I cannot see he is a better player for the team than Cisse. OK Cisse was a bit of a headless chicken at times but he gave to the team tremendous pace and GOALS. If he played sufficient games he would guarantee the team 20+ goals a season. Bellamy seems to put in more general effort for the team but he also has headless chicken moments. He does not appear to have as much pace as Cisse but the clincher is that he does not have the same goal impact as Cisse. May be good for a dozen goals a year at most.So the question is why sell Cisse for a reported £8M and replace him for a "bargain" £6M with Bellamy. I would much prefer to have kept Cisse. If he had been fit-I know he's still injured- and had played he would have give us a better goal return in the long run. Come back Djibril!!

If he gets a dozen goals and continues to be a "team" player then he is better than Cisse IMO

And who knows what was going on behind the scenes, rafa and cisse not seeing eye to eye. Rafa also doesnt like blokes that play with their heads down either. Cisse was pretty poor, lets judge bellamy in 6 months time.

Cisse scored 9 league goals for us last season. So if Bellamy only scores another five or six goals in the league and you add to this the fact that he participates rather than impinges on our team's flow of play, plus he came for cheaper than Cisse will likely leave for, then I think it will have been shown to be a good move by Rafa.

As much as I like Cisse, don't think RAFA is too keen on him. Furthermore, I am not impressed by Bellamy so far but I will give him time as much as I have given Heskey & Cisse to prove himself.

                  Neither is good enough.

Cisse was a joke of a player, great athlete no question, he could hit the ball hard - usually without any accuracy - and he couldn't trap a bag of cement, plus - and worst of all - had no footballing instincts whatsoever, and lets not mention his non-existant workrate.

Bellamy works harder than Cisse, has a better first touch, but he's a poor finisher. People said that at £6.5m he was a "bargain". Perhaps so for a mediocre club, but not us.

Just think about this; over recent years the club has pissed away over £40m on strikers who simply weren't good enough; Diouf, Heskey, Cisse and now Bellamy. It really is a shocking statistic.

I've had enough of overrated, non-scoring, big money strikers who have basically set the club back. And then we **** up and let Owen leave for pittance. Rubbish.

Is this not pointless at the moment, why not wait untill the end of the season to see if there's comparrisons to be made. What evidence have you to suggest that Cisse is a 20 goals a season striker in England, and lets not refer back to his tally last season because if I recall his league total was 9, I think i'm right in saying that Bellamy topped this last season. And I think you'll find Cisse was prone to odd headless chicken moment himself, as well as being a sulky little ****er in the FA cup final last year, and most of the other games he played in for that matter.

Haven't we all, but I don't thinhk Bellamy fits into this category, and as for Owen he's not and wasn't the answer.

                              Absolutely.

Still don't have an out and out goalscorer though do we?

And it's not totally about the money. It's the amount of time these losers took up stinking the joint up, stopping us from making any progress, before they were shipped out and we're starting from scratch again.

I didn't mention Morientes. We know he can play. He just didn't adapt.
