Thing is there aren't many Henry's in the world and there's no saying that if we splashed the cash on Torres or Villa that they'd adapt either. We seem to have done well with Kuyt for 9mil, but I doubt there's many quality strikers you could get for the same money.

I get the feeling about Kuyt that he'd make an ideal second striker, but we still need another forward no doubt. Crouch and bellamy are more than suitable alternatives in my book.

And it's not totally about the money. It's the amount of time these losers took up stinking the joint up, stopping us from making any progress, before they were shipped out and we're starting from scratch again.

I didn't mention Morientes. We know he can play. He just didn't adapt.
      absolutely fella.
litmannen, smicer,, morientes, cisse .....if i say to my manc mate one more time.......'he is the finalpiece of the jigsaw' only for them to be crap i will cry!!

If anyone watched Bellamy for Wales on Tuesday you will have seen he has lots more to his game than goals.

However I don't think he will get the freedom to play that way for Rafa.

Ironically I think he played the way Rafa wants Stevie to play.

To be fair, I think Cisse sulked because he was being played on the wing a lot when it isn;t his natural position. Gerrard allegedly sulks for the same reason and Bellamy even faked injury at a previous club to avoid being played out of position. No one likes to do it, despite so many claims of "i'll be happy to play anywhere" - as if anyone believes it when players come up with that ****!

I said this the day Bellamy was signed.

                (See Red Polo's sig)

Bellamy may be a more 'complete' player than Djib, but in terms of attacking threat and ultimately, a goals tally, it's Cisse every single time.

What exactly are we gaining from Cisse and Pongolle being out on loan ? Nothing is the answer.

If they were both here, I'd start them both on Sunday, Cisse up top with Kuyt, Pongolle on the right flank.

Yeah, spot on, shame on us for wanting a pacey, dangerous striker who regularly scored goals from both wings and up front for us last season....

I mean we've got so many of them at the moment, dont we ?

For ****s sake Rocket, open your eyes lad.

yeh, all those goals against part timers in the champions league really did cisse's stats good.

Cisse wasn't good enough, neither was Diouf, and Bellamy may end up being another failure. That is the sad thing. We have really struggled to find a consistent scorer in the league recently.

So what, someone had to score in those matches to help us progress, Djib was that man.

Besides, take away those 5 goals, you're still left with 14, more than Bellamy can even dream of reaching this season.

actually he scored 9 goals in 33 premeirship matches in a team that was doing well.

Bellamyis doing **** in a team doing ****. time to judge bellamy is when we are playing well and confidence isflowing.

like our whole team bellamy is suffering a lackof confidence. I am not convinced he is the answer but surely the boy deserves a chance when we have a stevie on fire and passing him some lovely balls like cisse ****ed up so many times.

That's wrong - Cisse is in the shop window + he's rehabbing a serious injury, and Pongy is likewise in the shop window because he prob wouldn't get regular football for us and a decision needs to be made pretty soon whether he's got any future at the club. A lot of loans are fairly pointless, but in these cases (and generally with us to be fair) the players are there for good reason.
"the correct decision would have been a penalty for us a red card for Gattuso and a yellow for Stevie"

He is going through a rough patch now, it'll be fair to judge him a little later to see if he can get out of it.
