    All-time Football Club World Rankings

A while ago I mentioned my personal top ten all-time biggest and most successful football clubs (and got a not entirely positive response to it on here ).

I've just stumbled on this site http://www.clubworldrankings.com/100.htm which uses something called Oosterpark Rankings which is a points based system presumably based on trophies won.

Here is their worldwide all-time top ten football clubs:

    1. Real Madrid (10,240 points)
    2. Barcelona (7,936 points)
    3. Bayern Munich (7,306 points)
    4. AC Milan (6,688 points)
    5. Juventus (6,223 points)
    6. Liverpool (6,017 points)
    7. Boca Juniors (5,944 points)
    8. Manchester United (5,672 points)
    9. Ajax (5,483 points)
    10. Penarol (5,194 points)

There are other lists on there including only European teams (Liverpool are still 6th on it as the worldwide top 5 are all European clubs).

Other teams of note are Arsenal (25th), Chelsea (32nd), Spurs (43rd), Everton (62nd) and Aston Villa (63rd).

Does this list sound about right?

There's no way we should be behind Juventus, Bayern and Barcelona. We should be above them in 3rd or at worst, 4th place.
        Are we winning?

          It should be

          Real
          Milan
          LIVERPOOL
          Bayern

          Or Bayern above us.

Surprised Spurs are 43rd tbh - other than a couple of league cups and an FA Cup I can't remember them winnning anything in decades?

Does the Juventus total include the titles that they had stripped for the match fixing?
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think Juve's 30 league titles might beg to differ.

Bayern's 24 league titles and 5 European CL wins might also beg to differ too.

But we are. The formula this geezer has used to work out this table has us in this position. Its just the way it is. Unless you are suggesting the geezer can't read his own workings?

A testament to how successful the Boot Rom Era was. Nearly halfway through a third decade without the title and we are still the best English club there.

Of course the 2005 CL will have helped!

Disagree with the methodology by all means, but not the result of it.

At least it is a methodology rather than arbitrary opinions based on not much.
                          Oh I don't know.

Having mooched around that site a bit it looks like a club gets 300 points for a Champions League win.

Win a couple of those and a Premier League title or two under Brendon and we could shoot back up to fourth behind Bayern
