As an aside, I can't remember when we last caught the opposition offside but we did it three times today (maybe more that I missed). No doubt a result of having more 'front foot' defenders. Could clearly see the disjointed line against City, but better today (apart from rash challenges and understandable communication hiccups)

Stevie shoulda given Mario the penalty just this once. Break his duck nice and early so he can focus on his game.

But an excellent game. More of that please. Its good to go to bed happy.

Saw most of it but missed the 3rd goal and a bit round then cos was being fed amazing roast at a mate's after slaving around his house for days lugging concrete

We looked great from what I saw- invited a bit if pressure but delt with the attack brilliantly. Top result- laid down a marker for that 3rd or 4th place early doors.
          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

After all the ****e that has been written about spurs it was great to see us destroy them....again.

We have so many new players, it was always going to take a while to bed in.

              3-0 is an excellent result.
              I love Sarah

That was a great performance and result. It is good that we managed to score goals when our two strikers both left their shooting boots at home, Balotelli looked a bit rusty but put in a good performance and perhaps should have had a couple of goals. Similarly Sturridge's play was good apart from his shooting (he had a few wild shots ), but we still managed 3 goals and should have had more - the Sterling chance I still can't believe he missed that. Sterling through was fantastic, I think he is now our most important player.

Defensively though we were poor, Sakho and Lovren made a lot of sloppy mistakes, and to be honest I can't believe we kept a clean sheet. Hopefully that sloppiness comes from not having played together much. At the moment though both look to me like the type of players who make good last ditch challenges because so often they get themselves into those positions and I'm not sure I could cope with a season of that The full backs I thought were excellent Moreno in particular. Despite all I have said here though I would like to see us stick with this as our back four, at least for a few games to try and create a unit, because as bad as they were in the first half, they did improve in the second.

I thought Can did well when he came on, but I thought Markovic was fairly anonymous, after Monday I was hoping to see more from him today when he came on. Again I thought Allen and Henderson were excellent in midfield.

Lets build on this now a put a run of results together.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Agreed, was very encouraging, makes a massive difference as with Skrtel Sakho/Lovren you end up with the mess we saw on Monday or last season. Was nice to see a unit moving forwards or backwards as one when needed. A first mistakes in the first half but were quickly ironed out and were pretty much faultess for the last half hour or so. Perkins will be raging.

Quality performance, Sterling,Hendo & Moreno were superb. Allen,Sturridge & Manquillo all had very good games. Balotelli worked had but looked not quite there yet.

Clean sheet was great but stats can be very deceiving.. way too many scary moments between the CB's in the first 60 mins or so. This front foot defending is bollox, it's all good stepping up alright but that's clearly not what happened.. Lovren in the last 2 games seems to get a rush of blood to the head, he vacates his position, leaves a hole at CB & gets isolated outside of our back line. We looked much better at the back in the last half but that's because Spurs were completely flattened by the peno (which was soft as ****e).

Full backs were very encouraging but remains to be seen what we are going to do with our CB pairing, we'll find it eventually between the 3 lads. Great 3 points though and a very dominant attacking display.

No chance. At only 1 nil too risky. Especially after the chances he missed. He'll get goals when he gets up to speed, should've had a couple today.

                            What's on Moreno's foot?

Back four was solid and Gerrard improved a lot second half. Im not sure Lallana will take the place of Allen as easily as it may seem.
