Mig with a fantastic save in the first half. 1 - 1 and the course of the game may have changed. Hopefully will instill a bit of confidence in the fella.

Sterling really is a fantastic player.

Lads, Spurs had 1 chance on target today, Spurs, 1 ****ing shot on target. Give the CB's a break, there is no perfect defence in any team.

It is good that we managed to score goals when our two strikers both left their shooting boots at home, Balotelli looked a bit rusty but put in a good performance and perhaps should have had a couple of goals. Similarly Sturridge's play was good apart from his shooting (he had a few wild shots ), but we still managed 3 goals and should have had more - the Sterling chance I still can't believe he missed that. Sterling through was fantastic, I think he is now our most important player.

Defensively though we were poor, Sakho and Lovren made a lot of sloppy mistakes, and to be honest I can't believe we kept a clean sheet. Hopefully that sloppiness comes from not having played together much. At the moment though both look to me like the type of players who make good last ditch challenges because so often they get themselves into those positions and I'm not sure I could cope with a season of that The full backs I thought were excellent Moreno in particular. Despite all I have said here though I would like to see us stick with this as our back four, at least for a few games to try and create a unit, because as bad as they were in the first half, they did improve in the second.

I thought Can did well when he came on, but I thought Markovic was fairly anonymous, after Monday I was hoping to see more from him today when he came on. Again I thought Allen and Henderson were excellent in midfield.

Lets build on this now a put a run of results together.

Once we get a settled defence, whomever that may be.. we'll be much better. At he moment it's dodgy but hopefully will improve. Lucky to get a clean sheet but sure we'll take it

              Mignolet was very good.

People just pointing out the obvious & to be fair we were lucky not to concede.. Spurs are just poxy up top. And yeah no defence is perfect..especially one that has new players playing together. We'll get it right eventually

Back four was solid and Gerrard improved a lot second half. Im not sure Lallana will take the place of Allen as easily as it may seem.
Allen has done well but has zero goal threat. Lallana offers everything Allen has with added goals.

At the same time, you could say Tottenham were lucky not to lose by 7 or 8 goals. Its a clean sheet, nothing lucky about it IMO. Mignolet counts as part of that and he made a great save for their best chance

We were lucky not to concede 1 goal, they were lucky not concede at least 4 more! But yeah as a team we are only going to improve.

Brendan Rodgers: Raheem ran into the box like Ricky Villa and finished it like Ricky Gervais.

Do you think he has as good defensive capabilities as Allen? I havent much of Lallana in centre mid so will need to wait and see. Think Allen and Lallana could be used for different opponents. Lallana for a more attacking approach and Allen to give us more stability and to retain possessiin in midfield. Still, its great to have the option
