Whatever the reasons theres certainly been an astonishing difference in our defence under Rodgers when he's played compared with when he hasn't. With him our defensive record is dreadful, without him it's brilliant and while it's not as simple as being all down to him I do think we would be much better off without him.

61 league games started, 84 conceded, 17 clean sheets. 1.37 goals conceded per game.

18 league games not started, 13 conceded, 10 clean sheets. 0.72 goals conceded per game.

It's time for a run without him and see how we get on.

A few mistakes from the pair at the back today but Sakho must be rusty and Lovren swapped sides, I think though they've got the potential to strike up a decent partnership.

Can't complain with a clean sheet, we've not had anywhere near enough of those recently.

Lovren was very rash at times today, thought he was an accident waiting to happen but he got through it. He was a bit gung ho trying to do it all himself at times but it's still very early for him with us.

Fantastic result today and the strength of the squad was there for all to see with the subs. The only time spurs had a sniff was when it came from a mistake.

I hope he persists with Sakho/Lovren. Out of the two today Sakho was the batter, more composed player. Lovren positionally fine but was too rash and gung-ho.

Totally agree. We looked much more composed on the ball with the two today. Far better playing out from the back and looked more organised. Definitely our best pairing for me.
