If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Henderson for me, I liked how he defended Sterling at that England presser, I reckon he'll grow even more if he gets that role and captaincy later.
          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I would give Henderson it, Lovren needs time to bed-in before we give him the armband.
Bob and I never had any rows. We didn't have any time for that. We had to plan where we were going to keep all the cups we won.

              Henderson confirmed as vice captain

Brendan Rodgers confirms Jordan Henderson as Liverpool's new vice captain

The England midfielder has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the last two years having looked on his way out when Rodgers took charge at Anfield

Jordan Henderson is Liverpool’s new captain in waiting, after delivering spectacularly on a promise made when he came so close to leaving the club just two years ago.

The England midfielder has matured into a leader with some impeccable displays that have made him a key player for both club and country, and that has prompted boss Brendan Rodgers to promote him as Steven Gerrard’s capable deputy.

It is a far cry from just 24 months ago, when Henderson so nearly left Anfield, after Fulham offered him the chance of regular first team football following a season of frustration under Rodgers’ predecessor Kenny Dalglish.

The Reds boss admitted he wouldn’t have stood in the player’s way back then, but DID make a promise to the 24 year old which persuaded him to stay and fight for a future which has been fulfilled in magnificent style.

“Yes, Jordan is our new vice-captain. I have been here a couple of years now and been able to give the decision real thought,” the manager explained.

“He’s someone who represents a lot of what we are about - him and Stevie (Gerrard) are the moral compass of our group, how they conduct themselves on and off the field, how they train, how they work.”

Rodgers also believes Henderson’s spirit in fighting so hard to be part of the Anfield revolution can serve as an inspiration for the rest of the squad.

“There’s a great story of him joining here, when he came in and had a difficult season. The first summer I came here he had the opportunity to leave,” he added.

“I did not push him out or ask him to go. But, like I do with all the players if a club comes in, I present them with the opportunity they may have.

“I said ‘listen, you have a chance to go to Fulham and you can go and play every week, or you can stay here. I can’t guarantee you a game straight away, but I know one thing for sure, I will improve you as a player.’ He wanted to stay.

“I felt that first period being out of the team really helped him tactically because we could work more on video and analyse his game and from that he has really grown in confidence.

“You see now for club and country he holds himself really well, he’s got a great stature and I think he will be around here for years to come.”

                    Congrats Hendo.

Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

So happy about this! It's really impressive when considering the fact that the club essentially told him he could leave two seasons ago. His appointment as VC is a testament to what hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude can do. Sounds like such a cliche but it's true.
