    just wondering...

With the supposed problems our captain has playing on the right, would Rafa be better off if he said "ok, stevie, you can play in any role you like. But if you don't produce the goods, then you must do as I say. No complaints!"

I wonder if its just like banging your head against the wall if you have a problem like this with your MVP. Rafa has a job to do, thats win games. But I wonder if some players are more concerned with how they play as individuals, and don't look at the bigger picture. If you give the baby its bottle, they start to play better, cos they're happier, the team ends up benefiting as that positive attitude/happiness of the player rubs off onto his peers. If you keep having a battle of wills with someone and neither knows when to back down, everyone ends up losing.

We do have capable players to play on the right. Garcia and Pennant are def up to the task. I would rather have a sub standard pennant or garcia playing there and a 110% gerrard in the centre, than a sub standard gerrard unhappy on the right and a "adequate" zenden or garcia in whatever other role.

Also isn't Gonzales meant to be able to play on the right? If the idea was to have stevie on the right to be able to cut in and have pegs at goal, couldn't we benefit from having Gonzo do the same thing? Except with is left foot? Is it worth a try?...

Gonzalez is fairly average on the left mate, I really do dread to think what he'd be like on the right.

As for Stevie and Rafa, it's a ticking time bomb mate and has been since day one as far as I'm concerned, Rafa's cold, stubborn man management style conflicts sharply with Gerrard, both as a man and as a player.

One will leave sooner rather than later, in my opinion, and I hope to God it's not Stevie...

I think there may be two big egos at the club. One on the pitch and one off it!
Did you see the size off those chickens?

Just dont think he'd do it, it goes against hs philosophy of playing for the team.

So your preference is for a player to win a battle of wits over the manager?

I, otoh, hope for the opposite, but no one man is bigger than the club, but the manager should be the most important & influental person at any club, not the player.

Let's hope the differences can be worked out to the benefit of the club, rather than any one man though.

            Don't agree fully.
SG is the captain and on the pitch needs to have as much of a handle on the game as Rafa (who I believe is NOT providing the goods through bad buys and team selection)

We keep hearing about Rafa bringing us the Champs Lge and FA in first couple of seasons etc. but I saw games that were out of reach until our captain pulled rank and led the team (Didi, Jerzy and Carra not ignored).

              :whatever:

Could you learn to be more positive instead of drawing such unfounded assumptions on Stevie and Rafa's relationship ? You'll be glad if this club is torn to pieces isn't it ? Are you Noel White ?

I'd love to see Gonzo on the right. And its definately worth a try as things don't seem to be working out the way things currently stand

I don't know what your problem is but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce

Well I tell you what mate, Stevie's doing a **** job of it at the minute, captain should lead by example, If he shows his unhappiness at being played out wide, it goes through the rest of the team. If he has been arguing in public with Rafa then he's a **** captain (although I don't think he should be anyway, but thats another story). And come on hopw many bad Rafa buys are there in the squad 3 at the very most, and thats based on 3 months of football - hardly fair eh?
