    Aston Villa (H): Match Thread

Maybe a bit early but we normally start when the team is out.

@LFC: Confirmed #LFC team v @AVFCOfficial: Mignolet, Manquillo, Moreno, Lovren, Sakho, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Markovic, Lallana, Balotelli

Fancy big Mario to bad a couple.
The times they are a changin'.

Sterling on the bench and Sturridge out, but we can field a front three like that is remarkable.

Our home form has been immense for a while now so we should win this at a canter, my only slight concern however is that we're giving full debuts to two players(Lallana and Markovic) and two others are starting only their second game this season (Sakho and Balotelli).

And the fact that we really struggle to beat villa at home.

Rodgers hinted at it and its probably for the best that we manage Sterling and don't overuse him this early into his career but I do worry right now isn't the best time. Sturridge is out, Balotelli has only played about an hour, Markovic even less and Lallana not at all.

Hopefully they click and we can pull it out the bag but even without Sterling and Sturridge its nice to see us put out such a strong looking side.

Really pleased to see the genuine strength in depth this season, we'd have seen Moses and Aspas in the side last season

All 3 will be nowhere near match fit which is a concern with all 3 starting. I reckon we'll see Sterling for the last 20-25 mins.

Very attacking line-up. Has to goals there for us.

Hopefully Aly will get a good reception, before being completely emasculated over 90mins.

I think Sterling's involvement will depend on how the game goes but I think you're most likely to be right. Just hope we have enough, exciting seeing names on paper but our movement and fluidity is coached. Get through this and there are obvious benefits though with CL on Tuesday

Very attacking line up. Mario should have plenty of service and a hatful of goals.
