Good result, dodgy performance, again we were poor at the back.

Also how come we have suddenly started throwing so many crosses into the box?

Asked that myself during the game. Loads of crosses to nobody (same as the villa game) and the seeming unwillingness to use the diamond is worrying. Of all the games played we only used the diamond from the start in one and that was Spurs away. We've been much improved in all games when switching to it. That should tell the boss all he needs to know.

I think our focus in the summer on attacking midfielders was because he wanted to play 3 in behind one striker and it doesn't suit us.

IMO this diamond is the crux of our problem:

Mignolet doesn't show any sort of leadership and command in goal. Doesn't inspire confidence at all. Sakho's positional sense is a real concern & i'm just not convinced by him. Lovren been directly at fault for 4 or 5 goals already this season, new player or not he had a disaster start. We desperately need to sort the CB's out. And Gerrard offers zero protection for the CB's & puts the midfield under pressure to cover up the gaps he leaves defensively. But to be fair he is some man for the penos.. ice cool.

IMO two up top in Balotelli & Sturridge is our best shout.

We just need time for our new players to adapt and get match fit. I'll take lucky wins in the meantime. We were very fortunate in the end, but there are definitely positives to take from this game. The main one being Balotelli's goal - hopefully he can get into the habit of scoring now. Credit to Ludogorets, they worked very hard and were unfortunate not to take something from this game.

I thought our shape and coherence were very poor. We'll get used to the new players and system - it's Rodgers responsibility to get that right and he's done it before.

The 2 centre backs are ****kn dodge as well. I am hoping that its just settling in problems but i said at the time 20m for lovren was about 15m too much. For that cash we should have been getting someone far more accomplished.... i personally think we paid far too much for lallana as well.....he isnt going to be a game changer for us - he will be half way between downing and joe allen (i rate joe allen)

Sooner we get balotelli and sturridge striking up a partnership the better....
